Good news for Ken's struggling animation career; I got a short contract as a board revisionist to finally get that foot in that door.
On a related note, I badly miss chonky manuals and have been reading the PDFs that come with the DnD Gold Box games before playing and you better believe it's a fools errand to play blind if you'd like your character to move.
I'm older than you so I can confirm that they came with a little book that had the tutorial in it and you read it on the way home

Finally, we have this beautiful cloth spine edition of the Gene Wolfe tribute anthology Book of Fuligin. Every Wolfe fan Ken ever met was in comics and likely as profoundly affected by it. Ken wishes he could’ve begged to be part of this for even a single page.

agree with this (hah) but also think a particular mistake the left made for a long time online, and still makes to an extent, is failing to understand that the person whose mind you may actually change is the one reading the argument you're having, not the one you're arguing with
The secret to engaging in social media debate is knowing you will never win anyone over. The best you can hope for is to have people who already agree with tell you you're awesome. You might great a dopamine thrill from the righteousness of your anger! Fine benefits, all. But you will never win.

While good MGS4 has escaped its prison, where the fuck is the rest of the PSP games? Portable Ops is Peace Walker Lite, but still relevant, and Metal Gear Acid was a tactics deckbuilder, Konami would make a mint putting that out now.
