High refresh rates are a scourge. You're at 60fps, having a great time. You see a 120hz screen, now you're ruined on 60. You glimpse 165, now 120 is trash. Some guy tries to show you 240, you shut your eyes, you don't open them til he's dead. You've killed a man now and for what

Recently I replayed Dark Souls 2 with this absolutely gorgeous lighting engine overhaul mod, which was a CRAZY experience. The game was famously conceptualized with a much more dynamic lighting system than it had in final release, and so much of that DNA is still there to shine in revamped lighting
