It has been great hearing from Jack Smith lately.

Trump paid for a coup on January 6. He resisted leaving the White House for as long as he could and in every way he could think of. He paid for and fomented an illegal coup. He urged his MAGA fanatics to march to the Capitol and "fight like hell".

For my newsletter this morning, I wrote about how Trump is replacing our government with a medieval royal tribute system to fuel his corruption.

Trump is Setting up a Corrupt Royal Court and Companies are Flocking to Pay Tribute
In medieval times, lords would pay tribute to the ruling monarch in order to collect money from local merchants and the peasantry. Under Trump, it's corporations gladly paying that bill. If you were ...

The taxation w/o representation tariff regime is bailing out Libertarian Argentina investors, meaning libertarianism only functions w/the abundance socialism for the rich provides. If "rustic individualist US tea party libertarians" understood, they'd want that democratic socialism for themselves.

20 billion dollar US Treasury + Fed bailout for Argentina's Javier Milei. Cui Bono? "Funds at investment firms including BlackRock, Fidelity and Pimco are heavily invested in Argentina, as are investors such as Stanley Druckenmiller and Robert Citrone, both of whom worked with Mr. Bessent."

Enforcement kept in the legislating lane refusing to change lanes to enforcement. Legislating sat on the side of the road refusing to negotiate retrieving keys they'd thrown out the window. Judiciary belligerently swerved across every lane abrogating established precedents & merits that define them.

tl;dr this is, as I've been screaming into the wind about for a week now, not just illegal as shit but fundamentally means the Constitution as written is no longer in effect

That said if you want an even deeper dive on the subject than I've done, this is a very good thread
Trump's mechanism to pay the troops during the shutdown is by far the most illegal budgetary action he's taken as POTUS, potentially setting the stage to break everything.

It's also needless because Congress would easily pass a troop pay bill if Johnson were willing to gavel in.

Long thread.

The emergency docket is not being used to address emergencies and is being abused to usurp Constitutional order and established precedents. Roberts dishonorable court of "Leonard Leo's partisan hack society" has mangled it into a meritless docket of nullity.

What's the strategy for driving down Kenvue Inc's stock with the Tylenol propaganda? Investors expect the CEO being ousted in July was laying the groundwork for a sale of the entire company or pieces of it. Trumps greedy goons have their eyes on ownership and want to drive the price down?
Congressional Conflicts: Lawmakers dump Tylenol stock before autism controversy

This is that "plenary" authority Stephen Miller was referring to in the now edited CNN interview. Arguing that the president's deployment of troops is unreviewable by the courts is arguing that his power is plenary.
Hamilton insists the president's decision is "unreviewable."

Seems important that the Speaker of the House does not even try to dispute that the president is unwell.
MADELEINE DEAN: The president is unhinged. He's unwell

JOHNSON: A lot of folks on your side are too

D: Oh my god, please. That performance in front of the generals?

J: I didn't see it

D: It's so dangerous! Our allies are looking elsewhere. Our enemies are laughing. You have a POTUS who's unwell.
