Exactly. Senator Whitehouse you can unify around deposing our wildly unsuccessful Senate Minority Leader. THAT will unify the grassroots and, hopefully, most in Congress.

Right, the answer isn't to abandon the party to these weasels.

The answer is to flood the party with people who will take it over and transform it.
Hey, a lot of people are talking about changing affiliation from Democratic to Independent.

Let me tell you why you shouldn’t do that in Colorado.

One of the main ways to get a primary challenge candidate on a ballot is to caucus for your party. You need to be registered as a Dem to caucus.

Can anyone explain the process for a Democrat Senator to challenge Schumer for the leadership position?

@sanders.senate.gov

It's time...We need to have the secret vote. It takes five to tango. The party needs leadership now more than ever!

It's not moderates vs progressives, it's fighters vs collaborators, realists vs delusionalists, populists vs institutionalists, cowards vs the courageous.

I'll take @aoc.bsky.social and @adamkinzinger.substack.com, @katmabu.bsky.social and @billkristolbulwark.bsky.social...
seems to me that those democrats inclined not to fight perceive themselves as living through a somewhat ordinary cycle of presidential overreach and backlash and not something much more significant and dangerous

Our focus now needs to be on replacing @schumer.senate.gov

If you have a Dem Senator, call them tomorrow and demand they publicly call for Schumer to step aside immediately.

Without a leadership change, we have no chance of saving our country.

Since the Democrats worked extra hard to hide who actually supported this, I think the No Kings/Resistance position should be to primary every Democrat unless they publicly call for Schumer's ouster this week

Either they go into total rebellion mode, which they won't, or the people will

Does that matter at all to Democratic senators?

This is a really hard day and I want to just add as WIRED's politics editor -- WIRED's politics reporting isn't going anywhere. We are very much here and won't stop.

Please continue to read and support us - canceling your subscription to WIRED is not standing in solidarity with our journalists.
The key thing to watch here: they fired a Wired political reporter. That’s the title doing the most effective, pointed work. Teen Vogue’s stuff was culturally impactful, but less focused on investigating the administration. Within the Condé portfolio, Wired and the New Yorker are the canaries.
New: Conde Nast fired four employees who were among a group that confronted the company's head of human resources on Wednesday over the decision to fold Teen Vogue into Vogue/recent cuts. Employees who were fired included journalists from the New Yorker, Wired, and Bon Appétit.
