I can no longer follow the plot of this show. I suspect the writers and actors can’t either. I don’t think they have a show runner.

When Massachusetts passed a "millionaires tax" in 2023, conservatives claimed the rich would flee.

But two years later, they haven't — and MA has collected $5.7B for infrastructure and public education.

A reminder that positive change can still happen at the state level.

One of the unacknowledged advantages of this awful era is that it's revealing for all to see the putrid connections between great wealth and great power.

The intentions of the oligarchs are fully exposed and more blatant than ever.

But remember: We outnumber the oligarchs.

Zohran's victory speech made me so happy. I had a huge ear to ear smile on my face the entire time he was talking. My face wasn't used to being used in this way and hurt afterwards.

According to reports, ICE officers are being told to trust the results of a faulty facial recognition app over evidence of citizenship.

The Trump administration is steamrolling our due process and privacy rights to support its mass deportation agenda.

This time, it was a US citizen who ICE officers shot from behind after he warned them that children would soon gather for the bus where they had pulled over a vehicle.

If you have the opportunity to go see Benson Boone’s American Heart tour DO IT!

His hometown show last night in Seattle was the most spectacular stage performance I’ve ever seen - such incredible energy, heart, soul and yes those flips.

Best showman of our times!

This does not bode well for the future of America

This Republican reconciliation bill is an attack on America, from the inside
If the GOP reconciliation bill passes, ICE gets through FY2029:

- $45 billion for detention, on top of the current annual budget of $3.4 billion
- $14.4 billion for transportation and removal, on top of the current annual budget of $750 million
- $8 billion for hiring/retention
- Billions more.

The cruelty is the point
The tendency of left-wing thinkers to search for economic explanations for political phenomena has consistently pulled the entire left-of-center away from the obvious explanation for MAGA, which is that they find torture and domination psychologically rewarding, and are seeking that reward.

Significant variables of COVID-related conspiracy theory belief (eg):

- lower education
- lower trust
- lower life satisfaction
- "right-wing political orientation, higher religiosity, & more negative attitudes toward immigration & immigrants"
