On this day in 1913 Charlie Chaplin gave his last stage performance as part of the Fred Karno company. He had been touring the U.S. with a troop which included Stan Laurel. He never looked back. #thelegendbehindthelaughter #fredkarno #charliechaplin

We recently visited #AHFsupported Craven Arts House to see their collaborative exhibition with Skipton Civic Society. The building is looking wonderful after its transformation from a disused Victorian school building into a flagship community arts facility for Craven’s artists and young people.

📣 There's a new petition to Stop the Closure of Walsall Leather Museum. The building is the last example there of an early Victorian leatherworks in situ. The leather-working process is showcased, it's a much-loved local attraction. The Council has announced it will close in 2026.

🎆Victory for St George’s Hall, Deal! 🎆

We’re delighted to share that St George’s Hall in Deal has been saved from demolition.

Thanks to the tireless efforts of local residents, the Deal Society, Deal Town Council and the Vic Soc, councillors on Dover District Council have refused plans. 🧵

@greenwoodprojects.bsky.social were very proud to have led the professional team on this lovely project.
A day well spent in Stoke-on-Trent!

Last week, our Investment Team visited @middleportpottery.bsky.social and were particularly excited to look around Harper Street - a project that we have supported with both loan investment and development grant funding. (1/5)

These heritage buildings are being affected by the heritage skills crisis in local government. These two buildings are just the tip of the iceberg - this is just Birmingham alone. It is especially marked where it comes to conservation officers 🧵

If all you see is bad jokes and pantomime dresses you might like it's Dame-scrolling.
If all you see are mid 19th century historical romances by R. D. Blackmore then it's Doone-scrolling
If all you see is bitterns in breeding season, it’s boomscrolling.
