if you've ever wondered why i go on about ADHD a lot, this is a huge part of it. airing a struggle makes it easier for other people also struggling and not really understanding why, so early on i decided to just let it be a feature of my life, because being lonely with it is the worst.
Which illustrates the double-bind many ND people find themselves in. Either you're openly struggling, & you talk about it all time, you 'make autism/ADHD your whole personality', or you work triple-hard, hide your struggles & people assume you never had challenges in the first place.
