What does DHS do with unlimited resources and unchecked power?

They kill people and detain children.

DHS is the greatest threat to the homeland. We must MELT ICE and dismantle DHS.

Also from his homily: "This is a call to be a missionary church, not a country club. A club exists to serve its members. The church, on the other hand, exists to go out and serve all people, on fire with faith, hope and charity in the name of Jesus Christ."

This can't be repeated enough.

Trump killed the Emergency National Security Supplemental Appropriations Act of 2024.

He needed his issue so he could be elected and send goons to MN. Now he is POTUS, 2 citizens are dead.

And we still have a broken immigration system.
In Chicago Tribune editorial: "This is an inevitable consequence of both political parties, fearful of their extremes, punting for years on an immigration policy."
Not in the editorial: Trump ordered Republicans to kill a bipartisan immigration bill in 2024 so he could use the issue to get elected.
From the Editorial Board: We watched what happened when Laquan McDonald was murdered by a police officer in Chicago in 2014. This felt to us like we were watching it all over again, just a few hundred miles to our north.

I don't know whether Alex Pretti was a practicing Catholic at the time of his death. But I do know that he was raised Catholic, and he died the death of a saint: a good Samaritan, laying down his life for his friend.
I want to tell you about Alex Pretti, my fellow Catholic;

Alex Pretti, the good Samaritan who stopped to help his injured neighbor;

Alex Pretti, who died the way each of us should hope to die when our time comes—giving his life for another, in pure, selfless love.

Renee Good should still be here.

She was a beloved child of God, with inherent value and infinite worth.

She was murdered by her own government in broad daylight in what is supposed to be the greatest democracy on the planet.

Thanks to Trump voters we got Musk, DOGE, mass death in Africa, RFK & Measles, tariffs, terrorized migrants, CECOT, Canada, invasion of Venezuela, Greenland, and the murder of a woman in Minnesota. Does anyone think that any of this occurs if Harris is elected? Elections matter.

If you live in Jefferson Park you knew this day would come. It is bittersweet. We love all the Paternos and wish they could keep it going forever but all good things come to an end. Happy that the family will now have time to get some rest and enjoy life. We are all so grateful.

It's an old and obvious pattern. An unpopular president - failing on the economy and losing his grip on power at home - decides to launch a war for regime change abroad.

The American people don’t want to “run” a foreign country while our leaders fail to improve life in this one.

1. No human is illegal.
2. Trump's existence is a bet that people are stupid. His sycophants say they can deny funding appropriated by Congress, which is against the law. But who are we to question? We are stupid.
3. Who will call Duffy out on this immoral statement and his illegal actions?
Sean Duffy on blue states: "What I can do is I can pull their money. That's the leverage I do have ... I guarantee you that the federal taxpayer is not going to fund their roads and bridges and their systems when they are putting illegals on the roads."

How do we celebrate Christmas when fellow citizens are kidnapped by our government? Or while we continue murder on the high seas? Or when millions now have to decide on whether they can afford health insurance or food, housing and transportation?

Card. Dolan & Bishop Barron, Trump's lackeys on the Religious Liberty Commission, can do some work. ND is not in the College Playoffs, clearly anti-Catholic bias. Since these two have been silent on killing people on the high seas or kidnapping migrants maybe they can put up a fight for ND?

Murder on the high seas, no due process for migrants, calling people garbage, and yet Cardinal Dolan and Bishops Barron, Cordileone, Paprocki, and Rhoades remain members of Trump's Commission on Religious Liberty. Make a clear statement in support of life, truth, and goodness and resign en masse.

Perhaps a good time for Cardinal Dolan and Bishops Barron, Cordileone, Paprocki, and Rhoades to resign their roles on Trump's Religious Liberty Commission. Resigning en masse would certainly send a clear statement that murder on the high seas will not be tolerated.

Human beings are not "garbage."

Every human being has dignity. Every one is made in the image of God. And every attack on human dignity is an attack upon God himself.

We must stand peacefully & firmly against anyone who seeks to deprive people of the rights they have under natural or civil law.
