The Conservative Party is simultaneously arguing people shouldn’t be jailed for social media posts directly calling for violence, but also that people’s citizenship should be revoked over social media posts they don’t like.

Make it make sense.

Thoughts are what distract us from the reality of the moment (the reflection in the pond).

Reminder that some people have little choice and DO NOT make any extra money for the pleasure...
Having a 1 hour+ commute is never worth it. I don't care how much extra money you earn or how many podcasts you listen to on the way. Spending such a significant portion of your life simply going to and from work is a waste of life.

There is no use case for LLMs that outweighs any ONE of the massive problems inherent in them that we currently know of, and there will be more emergent problems yet.

Fruit of the poisoned tree.
i don’t see how any of the benefits of chatgpt and other consumer-facing LLMs can possibly outweigh their incredible ability to induce suicides
Adam Raine’s life hurtled toward tragedy soon after he began talking with ChatGPT about homework. Analysis of his ChatGPT account shows how the chatbot became a confidant as he planned to end his life.

Sidebar: Passkey is a shit and confusing name for the tech, and it should only be used as part of 2fa.

Secondary sidebar: What's with the push for PINs again? FFS… This sucks.
I cannot stand this website sometimes. I do know what a passkey is and I understand the value prop. So does everyone else in my replies. The implementation is dogshit and the rollout has been terrible and forced. It's very easy to fuck up. Please quit evangelizing to my friends. Behave.

I have been using the same borrowed* term for a while. It is 100% valid.

*From the US legal system
A) Fruit of a poisoned tree. Regardless of how you use AI and what your intentions are, the LLMs were trained on stolen intellectual property whose owners were never asked for permission nor reimbursed.

Eh. Tankies. Tankies thought that, in part because that's what tankies would do...

Y'know, "every accusation…" and all that.
No one has ever been able to adequately explain what Putin is meant to have thought NATO expansion would threaten him with, apart from limiting his expansionist ambitions.

"He was worried they'd invade Russia."

No he wasn't.

He just wasn't.

That's not a thing anyone thought might happen.
this is the simple answer to people who keep saying NATO expansion matters. Sure, it matters because it presented an obstacle to Russian imperial ambitions. Putin didn't invade because he hated NATO expansion, he hated NATO expansion because he wanted to invade

The Lord of The Rings movies were rated PG-13. By current rules that means that each film could contain one use of the word "Fuck". Which line are you altering to insert the most useful swear word?

JFC, the desperation...

Why? Why does it not need to be safe, secure and reliable all of a sudden?

SHOW YOUR WORKINGS!
After more than a year reading engineering leaders talking about how "AI" is gonna 2x, 5x, 10x their dev team productivity, I'm seeing them pivot to "It doesn't have to be perfect anymore!".

My guess is that 2x, 5x, 10x failed to materialise, and "good enough" has been identified as the culprit.
