The "ICE is using military tactics suited for a warzone, not for American streets" rhetoric kinda misses the point that warzones are not naturally occuring. The US military creates war zones from residential neighborhoods and the tactics are not more justifiable just because it's overseas

There are no rules, they don’t actually care about respect, decorum, bipartisanship or debate, and only pretend to do so to browbeat you into submission. Nothing is going to change until more people realise that and respond accordingly; including to the media and politicians who have failed them.

you go "well the point is we ELECT people that are sympathetic to our cause", again, even in the instance where you do elect people who are genuinely sympathetic, being sympathetic to your cause is not nearly as strong as cops being able to go "nice family, shame if anything happened to them."

In death stranding 2 when you get killed by a boss you get a screen with the options "retry" and "pretend you won". I have to imagine making the later option took way less development resources than whatever the hell nonsense this is.
