A new 500 Songs episode is now up! Bruce Johnston! Jan and Dean! Rod Stewart! Questions about gender identity! Getting booked to play New York by accident! Herman's Hermits! Masturbation! Heinz baked beans! Aliens with trousers unlike our own! It can only be the Who, and part one of "Pinball Wizard"
Song 183: “Pinball Wizard” by the Who, part 1: Always Playing Clean
Apologies for the delay in posting this episode — I had a chronic illness flare-up and a frankly awful January. With luck, part two of this story will be up before the end of February. For th…

Alrighty fam help me out here- who’s heading this up. My brain’s a sieve and I can’t remember!
I tried to dig up their account on here and couldn't, but it's a bunch of medievalists who are doing a wide array of medieval-related crafting. I don't know how much analysis they're doing yet but iirc there was some planned, for those who were interested. I'll try to tag it here when they post next

Usually I'll watch even something that hasn't grabbed me to the end, but Bumblebee got ten minutes because I just lost the will. Netflix still recommends stuff to me because it assumes I really enjoyed those ten minutes and had to stop because it was just too good.
If you’re not vibing with a movie, how long do you usually give it before turning it off? #filmsky

Labour’s vote is collapsing everywhere.

In Peterborough last night, as in Gorton and Denton, voting Green is the only way to stop Reform.
Fletton & Woodston (Peterborough) Council By-Election Result:

➡️ RFM: 29.4% (New)
🌍 GRN: 27.6% (+16.2)
🌳 CON: 21.8% (-11.8)
🌹 LAB: 16.8% (-31.2)
🔶 LDM: 4.4% (-0.7)

No TUSC (-1.9) as previous.

Reform GAIN from Labour.

Watched #TopSecret - a film which I'd somehow missed at the time and had you lot going on about when we lost Val Kilmer. He's good in it, and not very Val Kilmer so I can see why it got mentioned. I can also see why it's not as loved as Airplane or Naked Gun: it doesn't have a familiar genre.

They're called Gotcha questions because it's understood you can't answer them honestly without damaging your political chances. Polanski's tactic of not giving a flying one about giving his answer is refreshing. I hope it works, especially when they find a question where any answer will hurt him.
“Are you firmly in favour of rejoining the European Union?" - Robert Peston

“Firmly very much in favour. Brexit has been a disaster under any criteria, under any measure" - Zack Polanski

Last night it was #VampireCircus, which as far as I can make out is a Hammer horror set in an alternate universe where State of Decay didn't turn out so well for Romana, so she teamed up with a pre-cybernetics Darth Vader to travel the pre-industrial E-space planet she was trapped on.

I don’t actually want UBI for artists.

I want either

- UBI for everybody

Or

- Artists to be paid properly for our work and property again.

It’s weird to think that *both* these options are now seen as naive, impractical and romantic.
