there were a bunch of us that said this guy is a fascist in 2015 and the very serious people dismissed it and they were wrong and we were right and their answer is to get mad at us for being right.

mirrors are cool. look in one.

This should rank as one of the most serious corruption scandals in history- the White House sharing top secret military information with oil company executives but not with Congress, creating massive opportunities for insider trading and other corrupt deals.

Nordic solidarity getting louder tonight, with President of Finland Alex Stubb and Swedish PM Ulf Kristersson re-iterating support for Greenland and Denmark, after Danish PM Mette Frederiksen's comments to Trump.

'No one decides for Greenland and Denmark but Greenland and Denmark themselves.'

Anyway, if we were actually a serious country, all of our institutions, both in and out of government, would stop treating This One Special Boy as if he alone is not subject to the norms, laws, & Constitution of the Republic.
One reason Trump says & does whatever he wants is because every societal institution, including the media, has completely normalized & internalized the idea that the laws, the Constitution, & the international treaties we have signed & ratified simply don’t apply to this one guy. It’s maddening.

My position on impeachment is the same as it was six months ago: Impeachment is first about driving public attention to Trump’s crimes and corruption.

Democrats should introduce impeachment articles and force votes to boost their parallel media effort.

Performative public investigations matter.
Why push for impeachment?

Because politics is an exercise in moving public opinion as much as counting votes in the senate.

The Jan 6 Hearings were not a criminal proceeding against Trump that would end in jail, but they focused public attention.

Two cents: The 'Trump is bad; so is Maduro' deflection is tiresome from Americans because the rest of the world has suffered under US belligerency for decades and yet still, at its deepest depravity, people seem inclined to take a passive seat at the helm of Empire and legitimate US gangsterism.

For all that the media has spent years freaking out about what social media does to our brains, I don’t understand why there appears to be little effort to grapple with the fact that these chatbots are, for some not insignificant portion of the population, literally psychosis machines

Mamdani rescinded every executive order issued by Eric Adams after Adams's indictment, but still the "New York Times" is focusing exclusively on two of those orders that had to do with Israel.

There is someone singling out Israel here. And it isn't Zohran Mamdani.

I hope consequences happen to all of these motherfuckers but I hope an especially awful consequence happens to Marco Rubio
STEPHANOPOULOS: Why wasn't congressional authorization necessary?

RUBIO: It wasn't necessary because this was not an invasion. We didn't occupy a country. This was an arrest operation.

(Semafor) - The New York Times and Washington Post learned of a secret US raid on Venezuela soon before it was scheduled to begin Friday night — but held off publishing what they knew to avoid endangering US troops ..

A CBS News staffer told me this after Tony Dokoupil kicked off his CBS Evening News tenure tonight with a lengthy Pete Hegseth interview:

"If this is what Bari and Tony’s CBS Evening News is going to look like, then the we may as well just call ourselves Trump Administration State TV. Pathetic."
