After my move to Texas, the next presidential election was 1988. Longshot Democratic candidate Jesse Jackson made a brilliant move. Civil rights activists were his core team. He invited anti-nuclear-warriors, greens, gays, and progressives to join up, forming a “Rainbow Coalition.” 1/9

I've never apologized for being white, but white people like JD Vance are making me start to reconsider this position.

Woody Allen filmed "Sleeper" there in 1973, but this is no joke now.

feels like a pretty obvious layup for Democrats to say, "this is an egregiously disgusting statement, even for him, and it underlines that the President is undergoing significant physical and mental deterioration, and either he is lying about it or is not aware of it."

Rob Reiner was a genius. He brought joy to this world, and in decades to come, people will still be laughing, crying, and quoting along to his incredible oeuvre.

Donald Trump is a nobody. History will remember him as a villain and a nasty, dim-witted, unloved one at that.

There's your difference

Every single reporter there needs to hold the line on this too.

Don't throw him a lifeline with another question if he dodges. Have each other's backs and demand he answer the question.
Just to get ahead of this: Print the post out and bring it to the next Mike Johnson presser. You already know what his move will be. There’s no excuse to not be prepared for it.

The fact that not a single reporter tells Mike Johnson “let me read it for you” or “here it is” when he claims he hasn’t seen or doesn’t know a thing about the psychotic ramblings of the head of state is not only a dereliction of journalistic duty, but a display of pure cowardice.

Just in case any journalist or editor reading this is tempted to minimize Trump's Reiner post because it's a "showbiz thing" and "real" stories are happening: No. It's a President thing and a decency thing, and if you don't understand that those things are newsworthy, you are failing in your duties.

Remember when we were not losing jobs in droves, or at odds with all our allies, or attacking other nations for their resources, or deploying masked thugs to terrorize our citizens, or pardoning drug traffickers and violent criminals in exchange for bribes?

It was only little over a year ago.
