Binding my quilt!
February 14, 2026 at 10:56 PM
Done trimming! Next: make the binding. But first I’m going to have that sit down and clear my head
February 14, 2026 at 7:58 PM
While I was trimming the quilt got folded over underneath and I didn’t notice at first and came THIS CLOSE to slicing into the top!!!! My worst nightmare! I think I need to sit down for a minute

Time for trimming! The scariest part of making a quilt
February 14, 2026 at 7:13 PM
I did it I am 100% done topstitching! It’s going to be hard to focus on theme show prep tomorrow when I could be binding the quilt :(
February 13, 2026 at 11:59 PM
Finally found some time to work on my quilt! I’m so close to done. I’m doing stitch in the ditch to anchor these long seams. Stitch in the ditch is not my favorite.

Chicken with apricots and harissa, served with couscous and garlic/herb labne! So good! It’s not really a weeknight dish, I had to leave work early to make it, but my god it was worth the effort.

When I'm in a snit (but not so far gone that I can't make fun of myself) I stamp my feet and imitate Bart Simpson's "stupid grapes, bunch of creeps, I hate France!" and I think "I hate myself, I hate clover and I hate bees" has maybe replaced it

Found an additional graphic that gets even more of these quotes together.

I've kept "I hate myself, I hate clover, and I hate bees" pinned above my desk since I first started studying evolutionary biology as an undergraduate. So relatable to get extremely frustrated with your study system.

G just told me his cinema “flex”: he saw a test screening of This Is Spinal Tap. He had to fill out one of those little cards at the end! Dang!
Dune (1984)
Brain Candy
Mystery Science Theater: The Movie
Have asked this before and always like the responses. What are your biggest “I saw that in the first run cinema” flexes? Couple of mine:

Transformers: The Movie (1986)
Batman: Mask of the Phantasm (1993)
Office Space (1999)

Durham friends: check this infographic to see if you were exposed to measles. And get a titer test and find out if you need another MMR! Measles is no joke and it’s here.
An individual with measles visited 3 Durham locations on February 6. Learn more here: dconc.gov/DurhamCo-New.... If you were in one of these locations during the affected time frames, get vaccinated if you are unvaccinated, monitor your symptoms for 21 days, & call your doctor symptoms develop.
