We went to family friends for Thanksgiving. My mom made me hold a pumpkin cheesecake in my lap in the car. “Whatever you do Sarah, hold onto the plate!” Dad had to brake hard, I held onto the plate for dear life, the cheesecake flew off the plate and landed on the floor of the car.

I’ve gotten so much sewing done I treated myself to a boba tea and now I feel all jittery, maybe next time not the black tea

I’m burying threads in my quilt and watching Pride & Prejudice (for the umpteenth time) and my life may be a cliche right now but I’m not sorry about it

I forgot to post about today’s show celebrating music by immigrants! Dang it! I think it was a good show, I got a couple of great requests (Miriam Makeba, Cal Tjader who was not an immigrant but had immigrant parents, Irving Berlin who I was already opening to play). Here’s the playlist:

G made chicken stroganoff. So good! It’s a comfort food recipe from Brazil. We had to buy a big can of the potato sticks. I foresee many casseroles with potato stick topping

HE GOT MY THREAD!! I gave him the empty spool so he should show it to the nice helpful ladies at the quilt store. I’m burying threads until he gets back.

G went to the quilt store to get my thread because he is AMAZING. meanwhile I’m doing tasks I’d been putting off because there’s so much sewing. Like trimming off the excess batting. I had left it in place, huge mistake, it pilled all over the top. This will be so much easier to work with.

I’m on vacation until Dec! And I cleared my schedule to do nothing but sew the entire week so I can finish my quilt! And .. I’m about to run out of thread. The quilt store is 40 min away. Welp.

Thinking about doing a theme show on Sunday celebrating music by immigrants, especially Latino immigrants. No reason, just seems like a good time for it

I broke down and bought fancy labels to sew into gift quilts. I’ll never use them all but I have one I’m going to be gifting in a couple of weeks (I hope!!!) Most labels I saw were cutesy “handmade with looove” with hearts and flowers but these are much more me

In Sept I divided & transplanted a few irises to fill in gaps in this long bank along the fence out front. Three of the ones I transplanted ARE BLOOMING. We’ve had one night well below freezing, how did the buds survive? WTF irises?

The Lady’s Call to Adventure is not really the one she wanted. She knows that if she doesn’t choose to slay this dragon, then they are going to give This Call to some Hero who is 22, went to a fancy dragon-slaying school, and whose dad was a famous dragon slayer.

Tonight’s movie: Night of the Demon. Actually we watched it a couple weeks ago, I got a Blu-ray that just arrived and we’re watching special features. There’s a detailed comparison of the different versions & why each change was made! So interesting.

The Charcoal Pit, Wilmington DE. Burgers and milkshakes. Has looked exactly the same since I first went there in the early 80s and I would imagine for decades before that

Kimchi bacon pot rice! Dang this was good! The rice stuck to the bottom of the pan though. Next time I’ll go back to fried rice (weather permitting)
