I don’t think so, I’ve had them for a couple years, never happened before, transplanted a few (out of many) only the transplanted ones rebloomed. It’s much sunnier where I moved them to, I think they got confused about the season

Not to trivialize but it must have been an incredible sight

That is amazing. A cheesecake jack in the box

It must’ve been. I bet she removed the springform part but it was still on the base. I remember she was more upset than she would’ve been if it was still entirely in the pan. I want to hear how you managed to shot-put a cheesecake!

My memory is of my mom picking up the cheesecake off the floor, putting it back on the plate and serving it with no one the wiser, but in retrospect I don’t think that’s possible. Maybe it was still in the springform pan? That would explain why it slid off the plate so easy

G is awesome, he’s retired and I’m not so he does the grocery shopping. I wouldn’t have asked him to go to the quilt store but he offered. He said the women there were really nice, they took the empty spool and found the exact match for him

apparently so am I :) next time I’ll buy way too much thread and it will probably turn out to be just what I needed
November 22, 2025 at 5:09 PM
I thought one spool of thread would be plenty for the topstitching. Didn’t occur to me that I’ve never made a quilt this big before & my sense of how much thread I needed was way off.
