The only insecure part of the border is all the illegal guns coming into Canada.
Jeffries: "The border is secure. That's a good thing. It happened on his watch. He wants to claim credit for it, of course he'll get credit for that. In terms of making sure that we actually deal with the issues that matter, including on immigration, there's a lot that's left to be desired."

We should make “Buy 🇨🇦Canadian🇨🇦This Christmas” as a Christmas campaign.

This is typically the time of year when consumer spending is at its highest; let’s keep those dollars in Canada.

“I am so sorry I need help.”

This is what an elderly retired nurse told me recently. She’s a patient, like all of us. She had devoted her life to help others. She has complex medical issues which had stabilized well until she got COVID and then long-COVID 2 years ago.

The ABgov is again trying to improve their bottom line on the backs of the vulnerable. This time they are drastically reducing the amount of aid available to those on AISH while at the same time, crowing about how they are falsely adding supports.

The proposed change to ADAP will require more /1

If you are angry, as you should be, that restricting access to the vaccine will make covid worse and more dangerous, please start wearing a mask, which actually does a significantly better job of preventing transmission in the first place.

AISH recipients despair over province’s changes to disability programs.

“It's been made very clear that I'm a burden on this government, that they view disabled people as burdens, that we don't have any worth or value unless we're working. It’s gut-wrenching.”

👀💥 Get ready for a big fight over Alberta's separation referendum. It's going to be messy but the Chief Electoral Officer needs to hold his ground - and his independence.

Canada isn’t broken. But an electoral system that lets someone spend over $2 million for a do-over after neglecting his constituents? That’s what’s broken.

We deserve better. This is #OurHomeOurRiding in #BattleRiverCrowfoot

I’ve gotten used to seeing AB push polls but Alberta Next “consultation” is outrageous.

Just did the immigration one.

From the very first sentence being a lie (no, we don’t have an open border policy) to options all having nudges, a dumpster fire in survey design top to bottom.

Working on a new way of visualizing smoky days:

Calendar-style charts.

These show the number of 'smoke hours' (as defined by Environment Canada) each day in Calgary during the wildfire season in 2023, 2024 & 2025 to date.

Thoughts / feedback welcome.

Aiming to publish these soon-ish on cbc.ca

We had some good clean rammed earth fun today with students from HS Bremen.
They were exhausted in a good way, because they did build walls from scratch, the whole value chain without outsourced labour and fossil fuel.
No products just pure building. Once you understand this it's a game changer.
