I think Americans are realizing that democracy is a participation sport, and the the government is ours if we want it to be. I feel like we got complacent and hoped some other third party would do the work for us. Seems like we have to learn that lesson every generation.

The way our constitutional republic works is that the supreme court is supposed to strike down actions by the executive when they perform an act that is exclusively granted to congress in the constitution. Whether it is a "signature policy" is irrelevant. bsky.app/profile/atru...

🦆 Bird flu in WA:
This is the first-ever human case of H5N5 avian influenza. It's been seen in animals before, but never before in people.

It was confirmed in a Grays Harbor County resident that had backyard poultry which may have mingled with wild birds.

Hi! I am a Real Transgender Person (TM) and I have been spending the past 4 years doing advocacy and education for AFGE. I am happy to share my story!
"If there is one thing you can do in observance of Transgender Awareness Week this year, it is this: Take a moment to learn about transgender people—not the political talking points, not the legislation, but the real, live humans behind the headlines." www.newsweek.com/the-trevor-p...

The soft pedaling language being used to describe the men in the Epstein files is enraging.

They didn’t “have sex with underage girls”.

They raped them.

Sex implies consent.

The survivors deserve better than this. Use the correct language. Say what these men did.

Yes, I was the lucky recipient! I haven't decided where I want to hang it yet, so haven't chosen a frame, but this is a beautiful print and so haunting. Glad I was able to snag it in 12x12”! (And thanks for being so responsive to my questions! Xoxo)
Recently packaged up this print & it is really, really cool. Only have one left - not to be made at this size again!
New! A lucky catch on a Polaroid, some gigantic vultures hanging out in AZ. This is from the early days of the no longer made Impossible film & has a lovely linen like texture. Never before printed at this 12x12 size. www.sol-exposure.com/product/vult...

It's actually insulting to the intelligence of the public the way your buddy Scott talks about this stuff..

Life is not "Oh so hard for men" life is hard for everyone.. there are no third spaces that young people can afford, so no one is hooking up. This coddling of young men is beyond absurdity.

The painted turtles of tonight's 9 o'clock photo are one of the native northwest species. While they bask in the sun when it's available, they sometimes don't seem to mind sometimes doing so when the air temperatures are actually fairly cold.

The coordinated efforts of men in power to bully women into silence says it all. Women say what has happened to them & they get harassed, maligned, discredited, & threatened. The first time I was sexually assaulted I was 5. There are many predators in this world & even more who give cover for them.

My household has been homeless for 6 months now. The inflexible demands of earning at least 3x the listed rent mean we're rejected as potential tenants for places with rents much lower than the cost of the extended-stay where we're currently residing. It's maddening.

The last line of this segment—after Rhea describes working from 2am to 8pm—is a gut punch.

Koppel: "Could you work any harder?"
Rhea: "If I could, I would."

If you'd like to help her family directly, Rhea shared her Chime ($Rhea-Connell) and Zelle (rhea_connell26@yahoo.com)

It's hard to express what it meant to watch Maurice, Natalia, Celeste, and Rhea tell their stories—in their own voices—this morning.

The segment revealed a brutal reality: homelessness at this scale isn't about personal failure. It's the result of policy choices and systems built to exploit people.
