I unironically think this is why some people have been saying "feller" for "fella" recently. a final schwa usually implies a final R vowel from a non-rhotic accent, and it's much weirder that -ow would be reduced like that, so it's literally "the word fella implies the existence of the word feller"

for a while I was going back and forth about whether I had the cot-caught merger but ~a year ago I realized I definitely don't, mainly bc of how I interpret people who do. the person in a YouTube video I'm watching just now said "moss [mɑs] green", and I literally thought she said "mosque green"

I hate when I'm having trouble concentrating on things, such as reading the newspaper or watching television. I'm always trying to read that newspaper but can just never stay focused.
