My cantor asked me a month or 2 before my B mitzvah "hey, you've got your haftarah down pretty well, you wanna read from a sefer haftarah?" and I was like "idk sure ig this is normal", and now whenever I bring it up people are either "huh weird that's really uncommon" or "I didn't know those exist"

This does not mean that non-binary gender identities are invalid, of course. Just that the Talmud isn't a particularly useful source to justify their validity

when actually, fella is more like how East Coast accents from the first half of the 20th century do it, e.g. think of "yellow" being said in a transatlantic accent as "yella" - reducing -ow to schwa, not -er. fella seems to be much older than the 20th century, thought
