❗️WSJ article: The Kremlin is offering Trump "peace through business" — lift sanctions, open the $2 trillion Russian market, but with priority access for American companies. Negotiations are led by Trump’s envoy Steve Witkoff.

Really enjoying Waregem Winters Bierfestival, yet another excellent, easy-to-get-to local festival (near Kortrijk). About 10 mostly local breweries, best so far is actually from Antwerp: Galea Craft Beer, whose 5.5% stout + draft Grand Cru both really impress.

Not the Brexit deal.
Brexit.
A prejudiced moronathon that will continue to damage our country until we’re brave/sane enough to admit it, demand accountability from those who insisted upon it and then, finally, start to fix it.
The tide is turning. Even the Telegraph is now admitting the damage the Brexit deal has done to the economy.

Creating a military conflict with Venezuela gives this administration a legal "hook" to invoke the Alien Enemies Act. In other words, the foreign war is being manufactured in order to facilitate court deference for its domestic mass deportation policy. It's a Stephen Miller Special.

Huge respect to the papers for finding both an 88 year old worried about the tax bill on her 6 bedroom Kensington house and a 20 year old fretting about only being able to save £12k a year tax free.
Top work all around. These are not easy case studies to find.

The UK, where the day after a decision to take half a million children out of poverty, the media & political world has been full of sneering at those same children & their families, labelling them as ‘Benefits Street’, while the same people are moaning about a tax on £2m mansions. Shameful stuff.

Farage has published a letter in the papers today claiming Reform 'stand ready to fix Broken Britain'. This is the culmination of a classic fascist strategy. You cause decline and division, via Brexit, as UKIP and Brexit Party, then re-emerge in a new guise claiming only you can solve the problem.
