A limit on extreme individual wealth above healthy, competitive rewards; With any extreme #wealth at the highest end of the spectrum clawed back and shared equally by all.

The proposal in my article for @theenergymix.com: energymixweekender.substack.com/p/a-new-fund... #CDNpoli #Canada #USpoli #US
A New ‘Fundamental Fairness’ Can Save Democracy, the Environment, and Canada
As major media focus on negotiations between Prime Minister Mark Carney and Donald Trump, it’s the Canadian people who are our best line of defence. We need a new fairness to empower ourselves.

A gigantic scam to funnel taxpayer money to oil corps.

Getting anonymous sources to tell media you didn't meet with Trump about the Venezuela action is exactly what a corporation would do if they DID meet & wanted to lie about it without lying on record.

The U.S., China, & Russia are effectively one entity, a force for the international super rich. The entity internally squabbles and will sacrifice their own people to put on a show, but each ultimately inspires the others to go further in expansion.

The true conflict is democracy versus oligarchy.

Meh, why not. @mark-carney.bsky.social if you're listening you have a real big problem. Either you or the people advising you have misjudged Trump's strategy. Your approach is simply handing over the country slowly rather than quickly: open.substack.com/pub/energymi...

You need to act. #CDNpoli

(1/2) Wrote recently that Trump will seek to disempower voices within our Canadian Government willing to resist U.S. rule & empower corporate interests to push more naive corners of our government not to resist: open.substack.com/pub/energymi...

It feels like that's their strategy in Venezuela too.

People need to acknowledge that the old world order is gone.

We're in a new era of mask-off imperialism and nothing is off the table for the US regime.

We will only see escalation over the next few years.
Remember that from Trump's (and his inner circle's) perspective there really is no difference between Canada and Venezuela. Once this precendent is set, down the road, he could kidnap a prime minister one day. We're no longer a 'special country' with 'immunity.'

(1/2) This is weak. We just hand over Canada to the U.S. slowly rather than quickly by being weak: open.substack.com/pub/energymi...

We need to stop making excuses for our Gov. repeatedly failing to stand up to the U.S. Being diplomatic is a losing strategy. Trump doesn't even respect it.

It should also be clear what Trump is doing is not about democracy. It's one dictator capturing another dictator, setting a precedent that legitimizes U.S. action in other countries. Again Trump sees no difference between Venezuela & Canada. It could be a Prime Ministerial abduction in a few years.
It should now be clear to everyone that the U.S. wants to control all of North and South America. To have any hope of remaining sovereign Canada all other democratic countries in both continents, and in Europe, must unite against U.S. influence. #CDNpoli

Two things here:

1) we need to institute a limit on individual wealth: open.substack.com/pub/energymi...

2) such a limit is not some far out idea, but rather an immediate national security necessity: open.substack.com/pub/energymi...

Cruel because it's used by the super-rich to avoid paying their fair share of taxes.

And a hoax because nothing has ever trickled down.

You have to realize three things are true:

1. There is no economic future in oil and gas, so no this doesnt make sense.

2. Oil companies are not going to admit that though because to do so undercuts their argument there's decades of demand growth left.

3. Trump believes oil corp lies.

#Venezuela
The truly wild thing is this isn’t even true, a shit-ton of their oil reserves on paper are heavy tar sands and every US oil company will take one look at that at $80/bbl and walk away because it isn’t close to economically viable.
