I plainly disagree with the notion that finding something funny is a kiwifarms-esque declaration that the thing is therefore worthy of only scorn & derision, or even that it could not be appreciated in other ways simultaneously. I find it dour, there is something heavy-handed in this.

It should be obvious by now that the forces which would see sexual expression (especially 'deviant' sexual expression, ofc) expunged have institutional weight behind them. The lockstep movements of anyone responsible for money changing hands is a key indicator here.

So too, though, are there forces which see the production of gratuitously vile (in that it pointedly denies and seeks the destruction of consent) sexual material as useful tools in campaigns against their hated groups. Both of these seek the destruction of expressions of sincere desire.

I will go out on a limb here and say that I would in fact hate my body without art which depicts bodies like mine as worth depiction, worth appreciation, worth desiring. A world where all of these depictions have been marked as pornographic and deleted is one where I didn't make it past my early 20s

You keep terf company (see image), you are an avowed swerf, and you consider my mention of you being German to be 'racism,' which is not entirely shocking. Swerfs have a long history of playing on "white slavery" imagery and its evolution into attacks on sexual expression is well-documented.
All these quotes are from Enemy Feminisms. The first two are from Chapter 8, "The Pornophobe," and the last two are repeats to get them all into alt text, from Chapter 4, The Prohibitionist. Tellingly, it is not the bestiality or incest-related parts of this infamous chapter, but the pro-trans part that has caused the most stink of late. In 2020, Dworkin’s life partner, John Stoltenberg, invoked Dworkin’s name against TERFs in the context of the “transgender tipping-point,” publishing a piece entitled “Andrea Dworkin Was a Trans Ally” in the Boston Review .76 One year later, Janice Raymond, the arch-TERF, hit back and “set the record straight” in her book Doublethink , calling out “an analysis of transsexualism that Andrea would not have affirmed today.” After all, the incensed Raymond wrote, Dworkin many times “admitted she was wrong in her last chapter of Woman Hating .”77 Quoting Dworkin’s 1979 endorsement of her own anti-trans tome The Transsexual Empire , and re-airing her own anti-trans beef with the “otherwise insightful”78 Dworkin as she’d registered it in 1977, Raymond now proclaims with certainty that, “were she alive today,” Andrea would denounce the “denigration of natal women on which the transgender movement is built.”79 I think Dworkin did repudiate her early pro-trans views, along with her optimism about eros—in other words, her utopianism. To her credit, meanwhile, MacKinnon has stayed steadfastly trans affirming—as long as the trans women, it goes without saying, aren’t whores.80 The context for pornophobia’s ascendancy was the rightward conversion of many erstwhile communists of the New Left under Reaganism. In her 1989 book Daring to Be Bad: Radical Feminism in America 1967-1975 , Echols makes this analogy plain, offering ample evidence to understand cultural feminism, quite simply, as women’s lib’s counterrevolution. As I see it, Daring to Be Bad narrates how the counterrevolutionary movement first took root in radical feminism’s brutal betrayals by the “male” left, grew tall on the comforts of revanchism, truncated analysis, and failures of accountability, and eventually became a conspiracy theory, a veritable feminism of fools. Heartbreakingly, in the process of getting the left (as much as it had injured and disrespected them) off their backs, radical feminists separated their movement “from the very social radicalism out of which it had formed.”35 Defeat and depression was compounded, in 1976, when the anti-abortion Hyde Amendment passed. As the Hulu show Mrs. America (starring Cate Blanchett as antifeminism warrior Phyllis Schlafly) depicts, opposition to the ERA perversely grew in various state legislatures in the late ’70s. To top it all, a bunch of ex–New Left types like Kit Lasch, Michael Lerner, and Tom Hayden were suddenly all pushing out the basest pro-family ideology.36 The Page Act was the very first law limiting who could come and inhabit the settler-colonial republic, and it was a feminist law. Critical legal theorist Lorelei Lee recounts how quickly and inevitably this politics fused with xenophobic white nationalism: Even as the Black Codes and subsequent Jim Crow laws reinstituted a racialized system of forced labor that continues to this day, white Americans told themselves that the country had entered a new age of freedom that was now under threat from Chinese immigration. Chinese women who worked in gold rush-era brothels in California were, claimed one reformer, “infusing a poison into the Anglo-Saxon Blood.”15 The hunch that nativist and eugenic motivations were firmly on top here is confirmed by the Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882, which banned all Chinese people from coming in (again on the pretext of ending “yellow slavery”). Three years later, in London, tens of thousands of people gathered in Hyde Park to demand an end to the “slavery” of white girls in direct response to one of the most popular pieces of scandal journalism ever published. “The Maiden Tribute of Modern Babylon” (1885) was a lurid exposé in the Pall Mall Gazette about foreign pimps “selling” the “daughters of the people” for £5 a fuck to old aristocratic rakes. It painted a picture of English damsels “snared, trapped and outraged either when under the influence of drugs or after prolonged struggle in a locked room,”16 and inspired instant protest demonstrations. The sex panic helped secure passage of the first of two Criminal Law Amendment Acts, which prohibited the “debauching” of any female who is not “a common prostitute”17 (a category never defined). Several whole organizations even sprang up, such as the International Bureau for the Suppression of the White Slave Traffic. Concurrently, in the US, the Woman’s Christian Temperance Union (WCTU) was fleshing out the same rhetorical arsenal about modern slavery being not just as bad as but worse than the “old” slavery. A very particular construct of womanhood was kicking into overdrive here. The ideal had been conceptually perfected within slavery and colonization, where it was tied to the privilege of owning one’s “legitimate” offspring. The womanhood in question, then, belonged to a proprietary system of class and racial reproduction. It was a gender defined in opposition to an un-gender ascribed to many native and/or unmarried mothers, sex-working mothers, and enslaved mothers—the ensemble of females whose access to patriarchal motherhood (understood as ownership) could be denied. In short, the white slave feminist constituency was a formidable racist and cissexist weapon. In the hands of many of the “purity” workers who flocked to join the LNA’s repeal campaign, it became a mechanism for criminalizing non-respectable poverty and proletarian deviance.
