Breaking news: Denmark has officially labeled the United States a national security risk.
Let that sink in. A longtime NATO ally — one of our closest partners — now sees America as a source of instability.

This is where we are. I don’t even recognize this country anymore.

The US is down at least $30 billion in tourism for 2025. International boycotts and a loss in appeal to visit due to Donald Trump has resulted in millions of trips canceled.

RFK Jr.’s CDC panel: No more hepatitis B vaccine for some newborns
The CDC's vaccine advisory panel, stocked with anti-vaccine activists and loyalists to RFK Jr., voted Friday to stop recommending a birth dose of vaccine.

My audiobook reread of #LordOfTheRings with #TheReturnOfTheKing I can’t explain how much more I’m getting out of this read compared to reading the book on paper. Yay #dyslexia - the poetry and beauty of the language truck comes through.

It's amazing how so many billionaires - who have WAY more money than they could possibly need in 500 lifetimes - REALLY want to avoid paying small slivers of tax money to benefit a common good like social safety services for less fortunate countrymen within the society that made them billionaires.

So proud of New Yorkers who trapped hundreds of ICE goons in a federal garage and stopped a big roundup of Canal Street vendors.

(For those who don’t know, Canal Street in Chinatown is known for mainly African vendors of knock off swank goods. It’s where ladies from Long Island buy their “Prãda.”)
Federal immigration enforcement officials called off a planned raid on Canal Street today shortly before it was slated to begin.

New Yorkers who heard about the raid showed up at the garage where the feds had gathered, and as federal agents tried to leave, the NYPD cleared the way for them.

Why does late November always make me want to reread the Lord of the Rings or the Hobbit? I suspect Rankin and Bass in my childhood and Peter Jackson in the 00s have a lot to do with it!

Ok doing another #LotR reread. I will die on the hill that Tom Bombadil should have been left out of Fellowship. Jackson had the right idea!

Someone really needs to run with this analogy…
Trump is like a toddler: time he spends asleep is to be prized, not resented. Every minute he sleeps is a minute he is not tantruming or breaking things or smearing his own shit on things.

Images of Donald Trump appearing to close his eyes at an Oval Office announcement this week rocketed around social media this weekend, with the president’s opponents seizing on the footage to raise questions about Trump’s on-the-job performance.

Not ICE. Border Patrol. They’re wearing Border Patrol uniforms with clear Border Patrol patches on them.

There are many videos of ICE officers doing outrageous stuff but a lot of the absolute worst videos are of Border Patrol, who are basically Bovino and Miller’s most aggressive tool right now.
ICE agents in Chicago violently detain a non verbal autistic man for being “non compliant”

He couldn’t “comply” because of his disability…they don’t care

This is not the first time they’ve gone after a disabled person

They target the most vulnerable because it’s an easy way to meet their quota

In 2008, a blogger named Curtis Yarvin called for a future president to kill foreign aid programs as part of a plan to replace democracy with dictatorship.

Now 600,000 people are dead—and 14 million will die by 2030, according to the Lancet. This is the running death toll of tech fascism.
One analytical model shows that, as of November 5th, the dismantling of U.S.A.I.D. has already caused the deaths of 600,000 people, two-thirds of them children. https://newyorkermag.visitlink.me/jUzNSc
