it's all bad but it's disgusting to imply that using genAI for concept art is comparable to placeholder text

Using genAI for concept art is so fucking stupid because like... that's where you get the cool shit. Thats the blue sky phase where artists make pieces of art that will be seen by a teenager later and change their life forever. Why would you want to start from mediocre. Why would you do that.

"but art should be accessible" it is, you can learn to draw, paint, collage, sculpt, make pixels. right now, starting today. art has never been more accessible monetarily nor physically than it is now in this age. access to artist labor and machine production is not an accessibility issue.

This is not the AI boom creating a new type of work, this is a classic example of managers using automation to deskill old ones. Creative workers who once made a higher wage creating original art and writing are now paid in piecework to edit automated output. Bosses are using AI to cut labor costs.
The AI boom has created a new type of work: fixing botched AI. Designers are being hired to remake wonky AI art. Writers are asked to make ChatGPT’s writing sound more human. Even software developers are tasked with fixing buggy vibe coding.

A NYT comment: “Humans ate organic, whole foods for millennia. They got plenty of exercise, lived without plastics. Until the mid-1800s, life expectancy at birth was 39. Food may be good medicine, but it’s not a panacea. Medical advances—like vaccines—have doubled the human lifespan, not superfoods”

This is exactly it. If you want the next indie hit, fund stuff that doesn't look like it'll be the next indie hit. 99% of it won't be the next indie hit.
not going to quote-dunk because i don't think the person deserves it

if you want more 'toby fox' developers there needs to be a support system that catches the 99% of people who will not make the next undertale

failure needs to not be catastrophic to finances for success to be possible

Anyways, this is pretty clear cut eugenics. Blaming people for their disease and taking away the treatment that keeps them alive is in fact sentencing people to death just because you dislike them and think they deserve to die for it. Hope the people who thought he had “some good ideas” can see that
In a video from 2023 RFK said “100% of the people who died at first, who had AIDS, were addicted to poppers. … They were burning the candle at both ends & taking a lot of injectable drugs.”

As someone who treats chemical toxicity and addiction, poppers are inhaled and do not cause immunodeficiency.
Phasing out NIH’s HIV clinical guidelines is flat-out immoral and unethical.

These guidelines drive early diagnosis, ART initiation, and viral suppression—82% linked to care within 30 days, 69% virally suppressed by 6 months.

Removing them puts millions of lives at risk.

The main takeaway I want everyone to get is that EA and BW wanted the DAV devs to magically move mountains after EA/BW made bad decisions, and parts of the fandom/general public decided the best course of action was to verbally abuse the devs! Way to go kids!
