I've been thinking on this for a while, and instead of a holiday season sale, Bonedust Press will instead dedicate 10% of all direct sales to the San Diego Food Bank.

Times are tough and since I have to do the marketing song and dance anyway, I'd like to accomplish a little good with it.
#booksky
Shop small for the holidays, support independent publishing, and do some good!

From now until Dec. 31, we will donate 10% of every single direct sale from our site to local food banks.

Treat yourself to our debut title, The Traitor & The Wretch, or gift it to a friend!

Came across this article doing research and it reminded me how fun The Drops of God is as an example of what comics can do.
just finished my guest stint on KQED Forum's "All You Can Eat" show about food/wine manga! I'll post a link soon, but in the meantime, enjoy KQED food editor Luke Tsai's story on how Drops of God helped Berkeley's Broc Cellars hit cult fave status in Japan www.kqed.org/arts/1393528...
How a Beloved Manga Helped a Berkeley Winery Blow Up in Japan
'The Drops of God' manga has been a game-changer for the wineries it has featured. Now it's also a television series on Apple TV.

And I have a flat tire. Please, if anyone needs art done for them, consider hiring me.
Hey, I'm going to be honest, I've had some rotten luck these last couple months. About three different projects got cancelled, so, if you need covers, pages, posters, album art, and you like my style, please consider hiring me.

In case anyone is wondering why I push so hard on sharing The Traitor & The Wretch versus my other books, the success of this one impacts not just me, but the press and the other folks who worked on it.

Also, it's the only book I've written that I actually get any royalties from, so there's that.

Three minutes for an heirloom bedtime story & experience-based life advice; all that can be extrapolated from THREE MINUTES?

The moment when the AI dismisses the child's interests evokes the creators' perspective. This app isn't actually for YOU; it's for THEM to make money & PRETEND it's for you.

I would love to see a game where the romance options you didn't pick could end up together.

I romanced Wyll and Karlach but, in my onion, I would have loved it if they ended up together instead.

And rather than driving the rich away, IPS researchers found that the number of millionaires has *increased.*

So now I can tell you guys that we told our dudes this and they were motivated as ever to help the community. My oldest is getting more food today and he goes “we have resources to share. People will have food!” And it warms my heart 🥹
Those little food drives at kids school are important for one reason: it opens your kids eyes to the idea of socialism/communism and that we should always be sharing resources within a community. Instead of “we help the poor” it’s we share resources because theirs have been taken and we have enough

I described this as "cozy pulp" earlier, and I stand by it. Connected short stories with all the gentle justice you might expect from @atthisarts.com, plus reminded me of a pulp anthology I'd recently read from @blaft.bsky.social.

RE starbucks picket line--the relevant detail is "picket line, do not cross." Pass that along. Proclaiming that you are in no danger of doing so because you are too aesthetically pure to let Starbucks coffee pass your lips is...unhelpful and does not give the impression you perhaps imagine it does.

The value of reading history is you know that in 1860 there were abolitionists who were so demoralized that they thought chattel slavery would be permanent. 5 years later those still alive had lived to see its end.

I certainly hope whatever comes after this puts in the failsafes to prevent future generations from ever, EVER having to worry about a DT again.
And it should not be among the *possible* consequences of losing a vote.
