The reason I split my latest Book Lover Laura reaction into two parts because I am out of wine and I don't feel like leaving my house to get more wine. And I can only deal with Matthew and Paul sober for so long before I start to have a meltdown and no one wants that.

Milo (Author of Age of Scorpius) has only 3 active members on their team these days and they have stopped billing for their Patreon.

The way that people are still bending over backward to give Milo Winters (author of age of scopious) the benefit of the doubt, even now, when there are tons of evidence that Milo was a grifter (allegedly, in my opinion) from the very beginning, slapping you in the face.

I am going to do the Matthew and Paul reaction later today but first I got some proofreading to do.

I don’t understand why this would be in any way contentious.

But unfortunately, it definitely is
Every time I say this, I get some type of backlash, but to be a good writer, you have to be a good reader. Yes, read your niche, but read widely too. I read poetry, horror, graphic novels, picture books, and non-fiction, too. It's only made my writing better.

Before you start complaining about "straight people" celebrating the defeat of Kim Davis's case? Please do a little digging to see if it's a trans couple. Trans people can be in hetro relationships, but they are still affected by the marriage equality laws.

The thing about Milo Winters (author of The Age of Scorpius) is that I would have been the loudest person celebrating his social transitioning to a man.
November 11, 2025 at 3:09 PM
I am not going to lie. I have mixed feelings about Milo Winters (formerly A*dra Winters and this is the last time I will be using his dead name) coming out as trans after fleeing to Finland. When it's in the context of him being accused of grifting their readers.

Is Audra Winter the most hated author on the internet? Nah. That is J.K. Rowling's rightful title.

Ooh, some new Audra Winter tea just dropped. Now I got to decide between Audra or Matthew, and Paul. Decisions, decisions.🤔 #AudraWinter #MatthewandPaul

I really can't stand the strain of self-published authors who clearly hate being self-published and have zero respect for other self-published authors because they feel like they are too good to be a part of the community.

I need someone to come up with a countdown of the book community's biggest controversies of 2025 because I have lost track.

I found out that Grace from a Million Lives convention is facing a buttload of lawsuits. Those authors were not playing at ALL!

I decided to give using Text to Speech to proofread my stories one more time. I proofread 1500 words without having a meltdown (I have auditory processing issues)! Please clap! 😭

When I made the decision to get an illustrated cover for my trans demon romance 'A Damning Desire' (thanks to @dania_sang as always). It was really important to me to have a clench cover. I grew up on the old HQN and Mills and Boons books and I always wanted a Black LGBQT+ person on the cover.

a funny thing about my wedding

we had 6 guests (plus us, ofc)

the only person among us who was (out as) trans at the time was my wife (the tall one)

Eventually, over the years, all but one of us came out as some variety of trans/nonbinary/etc

I have no good photos of my wedding, sadly 😅
November 10, 2025 at 8:54 PM
Hi, I would like to remind everyone that marriage equality also affects trans couples. So if you are trans and you are married? Show off those wedding photos, boo!

You are happily married and trans? That is something a lot of people like to pretend that it's not possible. Be proud of your HEA!

I always wanted to write a paranormal soap opera and I think A Vicious Thirst really fits that.

Being an author with ADHD means I have to constantly delude myself into thinking I am writing less than what I really am.

So true. When my two now-adult children were young, I landed in physical therapy because I wasn't taking care of myself. It sounds cliche, but we have to care for ourselves to be there for others. And tending to your feelings shows your children how to care for themselves.
As someone who is a stay at home parent? It's very easy for you to put everyone's else needs above your own. But that is a quick way to crash out. You need something (even if it's just half an hour a day) without kids, or you will become a walking time bomb of feelings.
