ICE claimed she is brown skinned so cannot belong here? Thats why the tried to make her disappear? Look at that Native American Beauty. How many ICE are actually sex traffickers ? They are just like the Nazi Gestapo -they raped and killed women and children in -concentration camps. Evil reigns.🤷‍♀️

Holy shit. For-profit schools, for-profit prisons, now for-profit disability programs.

the only good thing that phrenology produced is the concept of Retrophrenology, as described by Terry Pratchett in "Men at Arms".

All you need to practise this complex art is a fascist and a hammer.

Ranked choice voting, explained
Ranked choice voting is used in Minneapolis, St. Paul, St. Louis Park, Bloomington and Minnetonka elections. It’s complicated, but not that complicated. Here’s a refresher on the process.

They need a work requirement. You know, like what they want Medicare, Medicaid, unemployment, SNAP and disability recipients to do.
Today, Mike Johnson will keep the House adjourned for the 85th day out of the last 97.

12 days of work in over 3 months.

With full pay and benefits.

The senate has been working, so this is not about the shutdown.

It is about avoiding a vote to release the Epstein files.

SNAP isn't about "people who don't work." It's about people who don't get paid enough to live.

Of the 40 or so million people who rely on food stamps:

* Two-thirds are children, seniors, or disabled

* Most working-age adults who receive SNAP are employed—but in jobs that pay poverty wages

If I were running the DNC, there would be Democratic Party sponsored food relief banks across the country right now that specifically welcomed anyone regardless of party affiliation.

Along with the food, there could be voter registration and links to runforsomething.net

With SNAP payments halted, a lot of our neighbors are facing hard times ahead. If you're able to help, please do.
important reminder: food banks usually prefer money to direct food donations because they can buy at discounted rates

check with your local food bank to be sure but now is the time to help out

#Discworld
RE the eternal discussion of where to start with Discworld, I kept hearing advice not to start at the beginning. Apparently Pratchett himself agreed. In a convention speech in 2004, he said, "I find it now rather embarrassing that people...start with The Colour of Magic...

The NPR story about the No Kings protests said they were "largely peaceful." It said police in New York City and Washington, DC (among the biggest crowds) had made no arrests. Same in Austen, TX. In fact, the story included *no* mention of violent protests anywhere. Not "largely"; just peaceful.

Give the Kentucky legislature something new to think about.
This is the best political news I’ve seen in a very long time — so please pass it on👇

Each state can limit Citizens United in their own state & they don’t have to wait for other states to do it.

I am reading a science fiction novel set in the "near future" in England. The unnamed main character has suddenly jolted my liking for her by "outing" another character, M, to a third person, G. The main character treats it as casual gossip, no big deal--
