I could say this is (further?) evidence of south west London being the n-th circle of hell, but this could just as easily be Angel, Camden or Clapham.

We need to call this out before it's everywhere.

🚨 SHOCKING 🚨

A HUGE illegal waste dump has appeared between the A34 and River Cherwell, linked to organised crime.

Every rainfall risks toxins washing into the river.

We’re calling on the Environment Agency & Cherwell Council to act NOW.

Our rivers cannot wait. 👇👇

I'd absolutely love to see someone do this for London.
We are slowly catching up to the #30DayMapChallenge!

In our day 3: polygons submission, @zhixuanqi.bsky.social questioned the boundaries and fuzziness of polygons with an animated map that invites us to think about the (not-so-well-defined) idea of neighborhoods.

Australia's extensive solar power penetration makes so much energy that the government wants to offer free electricity at peak hours.

This isn't a serious proposal.

It's a grift from a think tank called Looking for Growth, with connections to Dominic Cummings and Katie Lam.

The housing crisis is real. This proposal is anything but.

I don't usually go in for Ian Dunt, but it's good to see him calling this out.

Miliband being shunted off stage every time he *actually does his job* fighting the climate crisis is really insidious - and mind-bogglingly counter-productive, given this is a priority for the British public!!
Great read from @iandunt.bsky.social on whether Starmer should stay or go, including the mystery of how, if you’re launching a popular climate, energy, and growth strategy, why wouldn’t you stage a press conference on it?

I was opening a bunch of PDFs in acrobat yesterday and my computer's fans were going wild. I have a lot of RAM so this was surprising to me. Turns out Acrobat now generates AI summaries by default when you open a file, instead of just asking if you want one (which I never do).

Used a Santander Cycle (Kenny farthing) for the first time in ages yesterday. It was a joy! Proper dutch-like, weighty to ride but glides around like a big red wood pigeon. So relaxing. I'd recommend it to anyone, including seasoned cyclists.

Absolutely insufferable aviation chat on the BBC Today programme just now. Does Nick Robinson not know business travel has peaked? And that airports don't necessarily bring economic benefit (see @alchap.bsky.social)? Incredibly one sided conversation presented as balance, for shame.
