The header image chosen by the BBC also appears to be AI generated, ft. strange non-chairs, partially abled people with no legs, a nonsense table with a person holding its parasol up

After some major bodging I have managed to deploy
@chris-larkin.bsky.social's code to generate LTNs for Ipswich! This is a really cool code base I'd recommend to anyone (it comes with its own visualiser!) siskiyoucedar.github.io/LTN%20Detect...

Another in the now SERIES of posts I've made regarding strange horse themed signs.

Bluesky, I dare you to ride some apocalpyse-themed flaming horse into this park.

I think these maps are great at telling a story. For example, this one suggests I don't know what the Midlands is.

Do it yerself here: smstone0.github.io#/uk-map

Another exciting sign development, reminding us to beware of trams with four legs (and tails)

Absolutely no one out walking in the green belt today. Meanwhile Hackney Flea Market is busting. Use it or lose it, lads!! The second hand Le Creuset can wait!!

Excited to be here today starting a UKRI Policy Internship (okay, around the corner). Time to bring some transport modelling & critical GIS to the select committees! #UKRI @ukri.org

One week for PGRs to submit papers for our sessions at the @rgsibg.bsky.social Annual Conference this year...

I'm so excited about these sessions that I've found another cat on public transport. Graphic design is my passion

Details here: siskiyoucedar.github.io/callforpaper...

Great to head back to the @rgsibg.bsky.social last night and hear the DfT's chief scientific advisor suggest the department should have a "travelling for fun" directorate, which is a take I can get behind.

Academic bluesky! Are you / do you know any PGRs working in the transport and mobilities space?

We have two calls for papers at this year's RGS-IBG Conference and are keen to hear from you! See the details here or via the QR code: siskiyoucedar.github.io/callforpaper...

Please amplify if you can!

Back in East Anglia for a few days and it would appear the train station is now also a tractor boys station. As if it couldn't get any more depressing

This is nonsense and it isn't new. I worked in a Civil Service team that used agile methodology (which is what this is, absent of buzzwords). It's already being used in govt where it adds the most value. Looks like this 'rewiring' is basically Cummings-lite.

Spotify Wrapped is all well and mid, but I think it's worthwhile to emphasise the smaller acts you enjoyed this year - here's four recents that made it into my playlist.

#30DayMapChallenge, Day 30: The Final Map. Tempted as I was to correct the massive underestimation of "Newcastles of the World" on Day 14, I thought I'd show you a map I made for my actual PhD work. Here's the sub-national transport bodies of England. Maybe more Newcastles next year, eh? 😉

#30DayMapChallenge, Day 28: The Blue Planet. Incredibly behind on this one because of a needlessly dense piece of code, but here's two maps that compare whether people in England are "feeling blue" to whether they live near the deep blue sea. This wordplay was not worth tanking my CPU lads

#30DayMapChallenge, Day 27: micromapping. Here's a road that is by all accounts micro, it's about 300 ft long and exclusively contains a pay and display car park (boo!) But it does share my name. Swings and roundabouts in the East of England.
