A reminder that you can email foreign minister Melanie Joly and tell her to take action on genocide in Gaza, or at least condemn Israel's bombing of an aid ship. I emailed the other day. It wasn't an amazing email, it was 1 paragraph long but it was something. Anything! melanie.joly@parl.gc.ca

That sparks memories, judgements etc which influence the direction of the conversation. Then there's the third layer of, sort of distracted, thought, which is just random things like "oh yah, i gotta clean the bathroom later" which can change the direction and/or effort of a conversation as well...

Random thought: can AI ever reach human levels of thought without having real relationships? When we are in conversation, we're not just thinking about the content of the convo, but there's that second layer of thought that's analysing how the interaction is going 🧵
