He explicitly rejects the pathologizing of her difference (“that being shy is a disease”), positions it as within the natural variance in human cognition (“you’re very shy by nature”), and puts forward a positive outlook on that difference (“it don’t bother me none”). It is understandable, of course, that Rocky would come to that neurodiversity-rooted conclusion, because he, too, lives outside of the bounds of neurotypicality.
