I wrote about a potential IOC ban over transgender, intersex and DSD athletes and how that ties in with the tragic death of Lia Smith here in the U.S.

Mostly, I ask is anyone going to care about those who have been hurt the entire time by this movement?
What happens when the dog catches the car does it just stop and wag its tail and everyone pats it on the head saying good job?
Ahead of the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, South Korea the IOC held a series of roundtables with journalists on a number of topics. This was a standard thing that their media relations team wou...

once again I'm begging and pleading with someone in the press to draw this obvious connection between trump/epstein and trump's precision defunding of programs that assist women who are the victims of domestic and sexual abuse

It's so interesting that in the name of practicality we are urged to avoid any practical action; in the name of redemption we are urged to exonerate people who have shown no interest in redemption; in the name of civility we are urged to overlook the cruelty of those who scorn all civility

the entirety of the british press talked themselves into believing this woman is trans based almost entirely on JK Rowling's judgement of the athlete's appearance.
Nothing illustrates the arseholery of the IOC and the British Press more than the use of the image of a not-Trans woman to illustrate a story about trans women being banned (because there are no current trans women competing at this level)

NEW! “Eddy’s appearance on Fox and Friends this morning was perhaps a sign that she is setting herself for a post-soccer career that mirrors another underperforming athlete—Riley Gaines.”
someone tell the women's sports leagues that transphobia is a losing issue
also, have the transphobes tried simply being better at sports??

News outlets that haven't yet been co-opted by Trump will run headlines saying:
"Trump's treasury chief says parts of economy 'are in recession'"
TAPPER: Do you agree that the US is at risk of a recession?

BESSENT: I believe we are in a transition period here. I think we're in good shape, but there are sectors of the economy that are in recession

Everything was good, even golden, in ever-optimistic George Kittle’s world late Sunday afternoon.

Whether that will be the case for his resilient, injury ravaged 6-3 team, well, that remains to be seen.

Nice series, but...

"The Dodgers winning again will compel MLB to confront its ownership problems & strive for competitive balance..."

Just throw that idea in the dumpster. Behind Manfred, 30 co-conspirators like MLB & its profitability just fine as-is & no, this Congress won't come to the rescue.

It's hard to shock me these days. But I just read the words "LSU interim athletic director Verge Ausberry" and my jaw fucking dropped. I don't know what else to say but CTRL+F for his name in this article: www.usatoday.com/in-depth/spo...
LSU mishandled sexual misconduct complaints against students, including top athletes
A USA TODAY investigation found LSU mishandled abuse allegations against top athletes and other students and subjected victims to further harm.

I got into the elegantly outsider-y solution from Buster Posey, baseball lifer, in tabbing Tony Vitello as the new Giants skipper:

www.sfchronicle.com/sports/giant...
Giants’ Buster Posey intentionally cast aside convention with hire of Tony Vitello
Buster Posey turning to Tony Vitello as the San Francisco Giants’ new manager was perhaps every bit as unorthodox as his decision to return to baseball as an executive.

A thread worth reading all the way through.
So let’s talk Gavin Newsom.

So I thought about only opening this series of posts to friends or followers, because I’m a trans woman talking about Gavin Newsom, but as one might say. ”fuck it, let’s do it live.”

The actual finding here is that a huge percentage of the population believes things that are not true. Democrats objectively did not spend significant time on climate change or LGBTQ issues in the last election campaign.
Duh. Those of us on the ground last year actually speaking with middle class/working class voters and who heard from these voters every single day the same - “Trump is an asshole, but Democrats are out of touch” - could’ve saved my new political party a lot of time & money producing this “report.”👇
