TRUMP: I was the first man to speak French. bonjour I said one day and my doctor started throwing up. how are you doing that, he asked. it's medically not possible. I say baguette, the guy has a heart attack. very sad. his kids are orphans now

I've seen loads of people quote tweet this (including as of now, me) often with slight mocking contempt for the planners/council for allowing something AI like with an American Eagle. Sure it's not great, but surely planning rules - which are already very burdensome - shouldn't govern such things
NEW: Glasgow City Council has just approved a massive AI-generated mural to be painted in the city centre.

The illustration of Scottish elements inexplicably contains a bald eagle.

The planner says those upset about it are "keyboard warriors" who should "calm down"

Trump versus reality on the Chagos Islands:

1. UK is not ‘giving away’ the Chagos Islands. It is restoring them to Mauritius having split them off from the former colony when it became independent in 1965.
2. There is a very compelling reason: in 1965 the UN objected …

Huge news for South West Wales. The first Celtic Sea floating offshore wind project (Erebus) has been confirmed as part of a record breaking auction for wind power. This matters for jobs from Port Talbot right across to Pembrokeshire www.gov.uk/government/n...

Preston park parkrun, record turnout at 1,475. So nice to see so many people I know. With no cafe open, we served coffee and pastries at ours. And then a quick drink at the crazy busy pub down the road. Now to cook the lamb.

I am, not by choice, watching day time TV. Obsessed with the fact they have blurred out the Presenters t-shirt throughout the whole show. Even more so as it just seems to be a peace sign with rainbow colours behind it

I occasionally pop in to x the everything app. Today I mostly saw posts from its owner (I've never liked or followed), UK/London is dead, more posts from its owner, and similar fun.

I'm about to watch Die Hard for the first time.

I plan to have zero opinions as to whether it is a Christmas film once I have finished

I thought I would try using co-pilot in Word to create a gift voucher to printout (for one you buy online and it's just an email). It worked but it generated a jpeg rather than a Word doc, which seems rather damning of Word's capabilities.

Today would have been a UK record breaker for UK wind passing 23GW for the first time... if it hadn't already been passed 4 days ago on the 5th Dec - exactly 1 year since the first time passing 22GW. grid.iamkate.com

This week the government announced that it wanted to ensure development next to train stations gets an automatic yes.

There’s one area near London where that won’t be happening.

And it’s home to a motorway that will soon be – by law – beautiful.
