One heartening aspect amid the horror of the fascist takeover is communities learning from each other how to resist.
On November 16, 2025, in Charlotte, North Carolina, activists are distributing whistles to community members to notify their neighbors about the presence of ICE and federal goons.

"ProPublica’s reporting debunks the idea of a ’Tren de Aragua complex' taken over by a horde of terrorists. We found no criminal convictions for 18 of the 21 Venezuelans we identified. Three of the men had been charged with offenses ... but in each case the charges were dropped."
“I Lost Everything”: Venezuelans Were Rounded Up in a Dramatic Midnight Raid but Never Charged With a Crime
Authorities said Tren de Aragua “terrorists” had taken over the building. A ProPublica investigation found little evidence to back up the government’s claims. For the first time, the Venezuelans arres...

This is amazing
a big runoff last night, in New Orleans:

Calvin Duncan was exonerated after spending *28 years* in prison; he tried to get his own case records from the New Orleans city clerk—but the office dragged its feet.

So Duncan ran to become city clerk himself, and yesterday ousted the incumbent.

Duncan, a political newcomer and former prisoner, defeated incumbent Darren Lombard by a wide margin in Saturday's runoff.

This is what Democrats want and what Democrats want is what's going to win in '26 & '28. Democrats running for office who don't understand this & think they have to throw key constituencies under the bus to win (Chris Murphy) are cowardly fools.
Chris Murphy, I'm talking to you, Chris Murphy.

Senate Republicans have now voted REPEATEDLY against saving the ACA tax credits that millions of families rely on—including just last week.

Republicans do not care about lowering your health care costs. Not now, not ever.

I'm sure he's very sorry to be questioned about this. As for living life forward, not the dead kids.
if he cared about the children who have already died, and the many more who will die, he would switch parties. but his career comes first

Again, I think odds are that companies keep prices relatively high and just take profits, partly because they can and partly because Trump could reverse course at any moment.
So let me get this straight: The President’s plan to lower prices is to roll back some of his own tariffs?
