A Christmas miracle! I wasn’t expecting this book until January, but here it is! The latest @peow.bsky.social release!

In store and online and as always, because we’re too small a shop to handle the mad Peow rushes, Ireland-only!

It's all just so pathetic.
President Donald Trump has added partisan and subjective plaques to a refashioned West Wing walkway he calls the Presidential Walk of Fame. The plaques include bombastic language, from “Sleepy Joe” Biden references to painting Republican icon Ronald Reagan as a fan of a young Trump.

So they understood they made a big mistake and turned back on AI, "yay".

If you want to read in english. Hope they keep it that way.
I guess backlash went on them mostly and they want to save their butt, but coming from a company, it's rare, so.

This is the type of stuff that should actually be opposed with coordinated action btw.

Workers should have stronger protections against AI and AI-Generated Content should always be labelled.

There's a petition in the second post.
1/ At bargaining yesterday, @propublica.org management said that they should have 100% discretion to replace workers with AI and would not commit to labeling future AI-generated content.

Talking about "the golden egg" and "make sure you're competitive and state of the art," this is tech mogul talk, not an artist or an entertainer. My how the heel has turned!
If I had known the two paragraphs about genAI in my article today would be so controversial, I would have expanded them a bit! Here's a rough transcript of the relevant portion of my interview with Swen Vincke, so everyone has all the context. (Full article here: www.bloomberg.com/news/newslet...)

Remember that in the winter of 2020-2021, we *made a whole strain of influenza extinct* by staying home more and wearing masks when we went out.
A lot of people are sick right now.

Flu and Covid are raging, but the good news is a well fitted respirator can prevent both!

A good mask like an N95 is very effective at stopping flu and Covid.

My article looks at how to choose one, how to fit test, where to buy & more.

Mask up & save lives!
We’re Witnessing the Fall of Public Health… and Your Best Tool is a Mask
Measles in Texas, bird flu in Louisiana, tuberculosis in Kansas and Covid everywhere. Public health has been dying a slow death for years, we can’t count on it anymore. What can we count on? A mask!
