In case anyone's wondering why I'm a music nerd... (Thread)
It's like I live in 2 different worlds. In my everyday real-life world, I'm surrounded by Muggles. Normal ordinary ppl. Their lives are dull & grey & boring, but they don't care because they don't know anything else.

My phone is dead.

It was working this morning. Then sometime this afternoon I reached for it and it wouldn't turn on.

Tomorrow I'll be heading into the city to get a live human being to help, because the twats in the chat were no help, and I couldn't even get a live human being on the phone.

As of this morning, it is imperative that the Democratic caucus in the senate remove Schumer as Minority Leader, Durbin as minority whip and Cortez Masto as Vice Chair of Outreach.

Replace them today with Van Hollen, Murphy and Merkley. Or anyone else who actually knows how to lead and discipline.

Supreme Court won't revisit landmark decision legalizing same-sex marriage nationwide
Kim Davis asked the Supreme Court to overturn Obergefell v. Hodges appealing damages she owed a gay couple after she denied them a marriage license.

Ok...Newsom, Hochul, and Sherrill have all posted statements on this. Would a coalition of governors be able to accomplish anything here? Asking for America.
Tonight’s Senate vote on the federal government shutdown should have been a time for strength.

Instead we saw capitulation and a betrayal of working Americans.

The American people need more from their leaders.

I haven't given a single dollar to the Democrats since Nov 5th, 2024. And I won't.

My favorite new words are Unsubscribe and Stop2End.

My money goes to independent journalism, pro-democracy orgs, veterans, and pro- environmental groups.

STUPID FUCKING TWATS!!!!! 🤬🖕
the thing that upsets me about this the most is that Dems had all the momentum, republicans were reeling, and we were getting intra-GOP fighting over the filibuster, all while voters were blaming republicans for their incompetence

this destroys all of this. just a total gut punch

I have a BS in PoliSci & never declared a party because the parties are the factions the founders warned against. I feel validated. Establishment Ds are no better than the AFP, just for different reasons. They still sell out ordinary working class people. #dontcave

okay, so, with Dems successfully keeping anyone up in 2026 for voting for this turd let's take a look at who's up in 2026 anyway:

1. Cory Booker - apparently involved behind the scenes, constantly looking for bipartisanship. I don't dislike him personally but he doesn't have what we need. Primary.

This is really good to see: Miki Sherrill just put out a statement sharply criticizing the Senate Dems' pending cave in the government shutdown, ripping it as "malpractice" and a betrayal of the people who are "counting on us to fight for them." Sherrill knows what drove her victory. Wake up, Dems.

@booker.senate.gov @kim.senate.gov

Do not cave. DO. NOT. CAVE.

I've been out of work for 11 months and my LEGALLY MANDATED insurance is about to go up by $100/month. I can't do it. I simply can't.
The average SNAP benefit per month is $177 a person.

The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person.

People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives.

And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.

You can blame Schumer all you want (and you'd be wrong and/or a liar), but this Politico piece names the names.

You don't have to read that far:

Every single Democratic senator that votes to cave on this should be immediately ejected from the party, and the national party should immediately start running primary candidates in their districts.

There is no bipartisanship possible with traitors and fascists. You either fight, or die.
