So good.
AP on Trump now, and Biden in June 2022.

For Trump, declining to 36 percent approval is “good news.”

For Biden, holding steady at 41% is “a source of concern.”

Do you know where your retirement savings are invested? When I looked into mine, I discovered that parts of it ran counter to U.S. foreign policy priorities.

Would it be too much to ask a journalist to calculate the difference in cost between last year’s and this year’s “Walmart Thanksgiving Meal” using the same menu as last year? Saying “there’s less food” is lazy beyond belief.

"LLMs use fewer resources doing $task than humans so using them isn't an ecological problem."

So what are you arguing for? What happens with the humans we no longer "need"?

That argument leads only to monstrosity.

Excuse me, but can’t some “journalist” just do the math on what an identical Walmart Thanksgiving dinner would cost this year? Saying they’re not the same is helpful, but not the point. The laziness of the media is astounding.
KARL: The president claims that Thanksgiving costs are down 25%. Does he know that's not true?

HASSETT: Well if you look at Walmart--

KARL: Wait a minute. I've gotta stop you. The Walmart package this year contains much less than the one last year. That's why the price is less.

The failure by state governments to do anything about pollution means it has often been met with apathy. But at a rare protest anger and frustration were rife

I got this useful bon mot from a middle school teacher recently.

In response to, “I DONT UNDERSTAND,” he calmly said, “okay what steps have you taken to understand?”

And that’s when I realized that a lot of folks have no steps.

As a neuroscientist, I’d suggest there is a profound disconnect between what *some* computer scientists think is representative of “intelligence”, cognitive ability, or descriptions of consciousness from some in AI work.

LLMs are not how neural systems process information, nor how brains function.

Johnson added, “the Republican ‘healthcare’ plan must be kept absolutely secret. No one must ever know about. I myself have no idea what it is. Our members are also in the dark. Even when we roll it out—no one will know what it is. It’s genius. Or, at least, that’s what I’m told.”
Mike Johnson talks about the Republican "healthcare plan" like it's highly classified information: "We're not gonna be on a conference call explaining all our plans and strategies for healthcare reform, because they're leaked in real time."
