Imagine ever thinking even six years ago that we would be sending troops to defend against the U.S.
Here we freaking go. I cannot believe this is happening.
Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden and Canada are sending troops to Greenland amid continued threats from U.S. President Donald Trump to annex the territory, multiple outlets reported. #FAFO

Doug Ford's feelings don't care about facts.
"Toronto doubled its number of speed cameras from 75 to 150 last year, a measure that studies show did change driving habits. By the end of 2025, the city saw its fewest fatalities and serious injuries since the beginning of the Vision Zero program."
'Hogwash': Ford downplays speed camera effect as Toronto traffic fatalities hit record low in 2025
In 2025, Toronto’s streets were the safest in over a decade but not everyone is convinced that speed cameras were largely responsible

Utterly useless stupid minister of an utterly useless stupid ministry.
Of course not. That would make the tech bros that Solomon is sucking up to very angry.
What an absolutely useless waste of a Cabinet minster.

Yeah this is a problem everywhere today. The people delivering the service with not enough resources get abused for policies made elsewhere
Why Patient Complaints Are Breaking Emergency Physicians. Much of the anger directed at ER docs reflects not a failure of care—but a failure of the system, by Michael Rubin, MD mikerubinmd.substack.com/p/why-patien...

Ban CEOs. Seriously. They drain value from organizations.
The richest Canadian CEOs now make 248 times more than the average worker wage in Canada. The @policyalternatives.ca's new CEO Pay report shows how the gulf between the rich and the rest of us keeps growing and what to do about it. @davidmaccdn.bsky.social

The tech world will take everything. Except responsibility
A real news outlet publishing the phrase "Grok apologized" should result in like a week-long timeout. Think about what you've done.

And they still don't have a readable sign that tells you when the next train will come
I've been thinking about the possibility of this concept for years (using panels in subway tunnels to create a stop-motion video effect as trains pass) and was hoping the TTC might use it for an art installation. Instead it looks like it will be used for advertising. www.thestar.com/news/gta/ttc...
TTC opens the door to running ads in Toronto’s subway tunnels. But there’s a catch
As soon as next summer, TTC riders might be subjected to advertisements as they travel between stations.

Things that don't need to be connected to the internet, part 1: any household appliance.

Wow!
“Dutch people cycle an average of 2.6km each per day. If this pattern was replicated worldwide, annual carbon emissions would drop by 686 million tonnes.

This mammoth figure exceeds the entire carbon footprint of most countries, including the UK, Canada, Saudi Arabia and Australia.” @euronews.com
Cycling like the Dutch would slash the world’s carbon footprint
If everybody cycled like the Dutch, we could offset the UK or Australia’s entire carbon footprint.

Hard to believe this is real. But an obsession with fonts shows a crazy level of micromanagement - and a need for tight control.
Marco Rubio ordered diplomats to return to using Times New Roman font in official communications, calling his predecessor's decision to adopt Calibri a “wasteful” diversity move
Rubio Stages Font Coup: Times New Roman Ousts Calibri
The secretary of state called it a "wasteful" diversity move, according to an internal department cable seen by Reuters.
