I find it chilling that Jason Kenney is a voice of morality and reason in Alberta these days.
"Racism is immoral. It is poison"

Jason Kenney is sounding off at the right-wing website Juno News for platforming a white nationalist

The white nationalist who advocates mass deportations is causing a rift between Alberta's former premier and a right-wing outlet run by his own former spokesperson

Earlier today I wanted to use the word "hence" in an email but thought it would seem weirdly archaic. But it's such a useful word for a specific context (reminded by the praise of "whence" in the article below). www.nytimes.com/2026/02/09/c...

This essential infrastructure needs to be part of the city’s snow‑removal plan
Some bike lanes are used less than others. City hall needs to identify the busiest routes and to prioritize them for snow-clearing. That should be easy, given there are only

Senate doing what it's supposed to do. Independent senators was one of the best things Justin Trudeau did.
Non partisan senators are raising the alarm — indeed they are the only ones left in Parliament to point to risks which MPs have glossed over. For example, a malicious actor could form a political party and use or even sell voter data without oversight.

Always pleased too see tree-ring dates published in @varchgroup.bsky.social journal. This year I'm amused to learn that Ye Olde Mitre Inne at Barnet is actually older (1538, 1546-78) than usually claimed (1633). That never happens with pubs! Its still not ye oldest in the country though!

Canada meanwhile hasn't increased its athletics investment in years, apparently.
