Programming morality, ethics and legal codes into robots is a famously simple problem. This is why no one has ever written a series of science fiction stories exploring any nuance or complications, philosophical dilemmas etc around the subject.

This is the one thing he can’t successfully lie about. The one thing that everyone sees right in front of them every single day. Maybe “who are you going to believe, me or your lying eyes” will work for the deepest and dumbest of his supporters, but everyone else?
INGRAHAM: Is affordability a voter perception issue of the economy, or is there more that needs to be done by Republicans?
TRUMP: More than anything else, it's a con job by the Democrats. Are you ready? Costs are way down.

People marvel at this, but this is what it’s all about for Trump. He needs this constant lavish praise as deeply and profoundly as you and I need air.
But also: Imagine what a basket case you would have to be psychologically to need this all the time.

So? The incumbent GOP sheriff had contracted with ICE. His Dem challenger promised to end the contract.
Now he wants other swing-state Dems to look at his victory as a lesson:

With all due respect, you're not going to get past "internal recriminations" unless and until the current congressional leadership steps aside.
The sooner we get past internal recriminations and back to fighting united, the better off we all are — the likelier our victory next November.

Found the tweet that Joyce Carol Oates bodied Elon Musk with and it's so beautiful in its eloquent, simple take down. So much so he's crashing out trying to prove he reads books now. Put this in the Louvre.

Elon has no empathy, but he does have vanity. He desperately wants people to think that he’s super-smart, funny and cool. Pointing out how uncultured he is shatters that image he’s trying to generate about himself. Ultimate narcissistic injury.
IMHO that’s why Oates managed to touch a nerve here.

With alt text.
But also, I told you when used effectively shame works. The problem is Elon isn't shamed by normal things like the weight of being responsible for the deaths of 600,000 people, or being a white supremacist or whatever. Oates just landed on a pressure point.
