Is it...requesting content moderation?

If you lined up all the people in the country Ezra Klein is probably in the top 15/20% for most progressive, Joe Manchin is in top 45/50%. If you are incapable of listening to these people you have cocooned yourself to a degree that is unhealthy.

I love my listeners and my job.
Wow. Grills, Klein and Manchin in short order, @timmiller.bsky.social from @thebulwark.com either hates his listeners or his job.

This is not true. Blackstone owns 0.06% of the single family homes in America. There is no market where they own more than 1% of the homes.

Nobody has a monopoly on housing. 2/3 of American households own their homes and rental housing is a VERY diversified and competitive industry.

The rise of ride-sharing apps has been change for the better.

It's also an illustration of the fact that sometimes positive change for society is bad for some reasonably sympathetic people and life isn't all Evil Billionaires.

My small country, Estonia, population 1.3 million sent 2003-2014 over 2500 soldiers. 9 were killed in the line of duty. 109 wounded, half of them so seriously they could no longer lead a normal life.

In Iraq 2003-2009 we had more than 440 soldiers. 2 were killed. 18 seriously wounded.

I think a really underrated idea for Democrats would be to to try:

(a) Study public opinion accurately
(b) Adopt views, especially on social and moral values issues that align with public opinion

Or they can try this.

I know it's hard to enforce in the American system, but it's not great when members of Congress, Supreme Court justices (or possibly presidents) die in office from illnesses related to old age. Social and professional norms around SCOTUS should change. Donors should pressure politicians to retire.

“But Trump blah blah blah” people generally dislike Trump and still preferred what he offered to what Democrats were offering, probably should be some more soul searching about that. I personally think it’s important to keep people like Trump out of power by running the best candidates in every race

Switched from zsh to fish shell a few months ago. It has been mostly great, but two main annoyances stand out:

* No {} or similar for string interpolation. foo_"$bar"_baz sucks.
* Universal variables are a terrible idea. Even though I don't use them, some builtins use them under the hood.
