having to figure out my insurance is a freedom limiting experience. I want the freedom to spend my time doing things other than comparing plans and figuring out which thing is going to screw me over the least

I have now read many smart people explaining what and why the dem senate did and I stand by this. My hopes for a better America do not rest on the current class of Democratic Senators.
I am not going to let Schumer and 8 center-right Democrats bring me down. We won on Tuesday. We're gonna keep winning. Just keep telling the stories of what the Trump administration is doing and how it's making lives so much harder, about the corruption, the incompetence, the violence.

So it turns out... the US air travel system was incredibly, deeply dependent on federal funding to just run day-to-day all this time, to the benefit of private airline shareholders, when everyone thinks that state-run trains are leeching off the government. Weird!

One of my unsupported hot takes is that the loneliness crisis is caused in part by people not being bored enough. In most of my classes the students all stare at their phones until class begins. We’ve lost the precious boredom of eventually actually being bored enough to engage with others.

doing a technology security training that demonstrates utter failures of regulation and law enforcement. Trust no one and nothing, even calling to verify may not be enough, etc. The low trust environment created by unrestrained scamming is bad for us and I want the gov't to fix it!
