I need to know everything about job #6 right now

This also came up in very similar language in the now-famous “this job sucks, please find me in contempt so I can sleep” hearing. The judge was kind of like, “When you say it’s a lot of work to follow due process, you realize I kind of don’t care, yes?”

But said it nicer.
“The Constitution does not permit the government to arrest thousands of individuals and then disregard their constitutional rights because it would be too challenging to honor those rights.”
BREAKING: Judge Nancy Brasel, a Trump appointee, has issued a TRO in the Minnesota access-to-counsel case about treatment at Whipple.

"It appears that in planning for Operation Metro Surge, the government failed to plan for the constitutional rights of its civil detainees."

FDA is refusing to consider Moderna's mRNA flu vaccine. Yet, as @angierasmussen.bsky.social explains, if we had mRNA vax technology for flu, we might have been able to quickly update this season's shots to cover subclade K before it hit the US. @jackiefmogensen.bsky.social reports @sciam.bsky.social
FDA won’t consider a new mRNA vaccine for flu despite the technology’s life-saving promise
The U.S.’s drug safety agency declined to review a next-gen flu vaccine that uses the same tech as the coronavirus shots

Isn't it weird how the people proposing abundance never wanna do it for clean energy?
One group is now proposing “Abundance” on the Colorado River by building a “coordinated suite of desalination plants.”

“At some point, doesn’t it seem just a little bit easier, and a hell of a lot less expensive, to live within our means?” @landdesk.bsky.social

I found this video, "The 'Guilt' of Making Art," to be both interesting and relevant to some of my own feelings lately given, you know, the times we find ourselves living in.

In years past, I probably would have smiled and kept on working, taking the occasional glance out the window to see if it was still snowing. But today I have decided to take a break and watch the snowfall. As I get older, I'm getting better about choosing to take the time to live in these moments.

It's snowing again here, just a light flurry, nothing that will stick to the ground, but I find it so beautiful that my eyes started welling up.

There is a not insubstantial part of me that wishes I had known, as a young adult, that art/media conservationist and archivist was an actual career path. Oh well. Still, I'm fascinated by behind-the-scenes looks at careers and places such as these.
