La boussole électorale @BoussoleElectorale (aka voter compass) Is interesting to put things into perspective. I am surprised, I'm further right and more conservative than I thought (I expected to be left of NDP and Green)

How did you do?

Atheism is a religion like...
—bald is a hairdo
—nude is an outfit
—silence is a noise
—"Off" is a TV channel
—barefoot is a shoe style
—peace is a battle tactic
—abstinence is a sexual position

Atheism is the REJECTION of religion. Any claims to the contrary are either strawmen or equivocations.
Atheism is religion.

I re-watched Idiocracy this week-end, last time I saw it was 15 years ago.

I have never felt like crying so much during a comedy, it's even more on point than I remembered (exept for the eugenics part, but I guess that describes Elon's wordview - exept he hasn't realised he's one of the idiots yet)

The fact congressional Democrats have not hired three dozen D&D rules lawyers with oppositional defiant disorder and turned them loose on parliamentary procedure with the goal of maximum obstruction is such a fucking missed opportunity
I’m bringing this up because this is a simple procedural way to fuck with republicans even if they’re in the majority. Call them out of order, rise to a point of personal privilege, use the very procedural rules that organize their meetings to strangle them. It fucking works.

From 1973 to 2022, Canada and Denmark were at war.
Over the course of the war, several soldiers on both sides were wounded....by hangovers. And it was all fought over a tiny island the size of a city block.
Let's learn about The Whisky War!

It's not real.
It's not us.
It's not bad.
It's too hard to fix.
It's too late.

Just about every climate denial argument I've ever heard is a variant of one of these five categories, and each one is as bad as the next.

Why? Because they all have the same goal: prevent action as long as possible.

At the start of COVID, we all learned how to beat airborne viruses like the flu: by wearing masks and staying home when we are sick. It's a real shame we haven't translated those important lessons into long-term behavioral change.

Canadians don't back down from a fight and we won't back down from this one.
Support your local retailers. Buy from Canadian producers. Let's stand together and show that Canadians may not start fights but we finish them.

Encyclopædia Britannica will continue to use ‘Gulf of Mexico’ for a few reasons:

-We serve an international audience, a majority of which is outside the U.S.

-The Gulf of Mexico is an international body of water, and the U.S.’s authority to rename it is ambiguous.
