I am. But there are three things at play here regarding ICE collecting private data. Quick rundown on the issue, why you should be paying attention, and what I'm doing about it:
So which politician is calling for the dismantling of the probably illegal database that ice & this government is collecting biometric data of protesters?

What Kelly says
If you want a better class of candidate, not only do you have to recruit or be one, you have to help them build the infrastructure they need to win primaries. If someone is going to take on entrenched interests, they will need a whole lot of support. Be that support, or don’t expect to see them win.

It’s so hard to describe what this is like to people who aren’t here. The ICE/BCP occupation seeps into everything. It’s not just the horror of the big stuff. It’s the little stuff, too: helicopters all night, vigilance during every trip out of the house, guilt at having any downtime at all.
I've personally had barely any ICE encounters. I've done patrolling when I can. And my body is just yelling at me that it's wrecked.

Even doing a little bit is fucking taxing. Everyone doing more is a superhero, and I don't think folks who haven't been involved in an occupation understand the toll.

One happy return photo of Liam and then we leave the poor kid and his family alone other than to give them money. And we remember Liam represents thousands of kids in ICE custody and we keep fighting until all of them are free.
It should not take a court order to get a toddler out of a prison.

When the president was calling all Somali immigrants "garbage" who "come from hell" and "contribute nothing" to America and therefore needed to go "back where they came from" did you ask him to "stop the rhetoric," Tom?
Homan: "I begged for the last two months on TV for the rhetoric to stop. I said in March -- if the rhetoric doesn't stop, there is gonna be bloodshed. And there has been. I wish I wasn't right. I don't want to see anybody die."

Same. For me, I think it’s an immediate breach of trust.
Amen. If I see one of those obvious AI illustrations on a piece I now reflexively recoil and often decide not to read it. Can't wholly explain my own reaction, but it's genuine.
I kind of miss the generic stock photos that people were using before everybody switched to diffusion model pap.

Please, call your senators and push them just a little further. I called to thank @klobuchar.senate.gov and @smith.senate.gov for opposing DHS funding at this time and asked them to oppose @schumer.senate.gov’s ICE reforms and support abolishing ICE instead.

In case you are unaware:
-it’s not illegal to have a group chat
-it’s not illegal to film anyone in public (and it’s important, bc otherwise people just disappear)
-it’s not illegal to tell people when you see masked officers
-it’s not illegal to collect and distribute food

ICE must leave MN.

Things we could do in MN with the $18 million a week it costs taxpayers to fund Operation Metro Surge:

- Provide Medicaid coverage for 5,000 Minnesota children
- Fund a full week of SNAP benefits for every eligible Minnesotan
- Cover the annual salaries of 225 school mental health professionals

Abolish ICE. This is not enough. @klobuchar.senate.gov @smith.senate.gov
Dems coalescing around 5 restrictions on ICE, I'm told:

DHS required to cooperate with state probes (big)
CBP stays at border
warrants for arrests
IDs, bodycams
ICE out of churches, schools

"That package unites a lot of Dems," Sen Chris Murphy tells me on the pod:

As Trump scrambles to contain the damage from the latest ICE horrors, Senator Chris Murphy offers a sharp indictment of Trump-ICE lawlessness—and explains how Dems can meet the urgency of the moment.

The biggest risk in this moment is something sociologists call “symbolic compliance.”

That’s when an institution that is violating civil rights gives the public just enough symbolic victories that accountability efforts lose steam before there has been any meaningful change.
