I create #fantasyart illustrations in pen or #coloredpencil. A lot of my work revolves around #mentalhealth and #chronicillness. I also do #collage, especially collaging my older work into something new. I dabble in creative essays and #zines, too!
"Like Clockwork" by Andreana Rosnik, an illustration in colored pencil. Unraveling from the skull is an orange peel covered in markings, with muscle tissue underneath the peel. The peel extends to the rest of the image. On the outer portion of the peel are musical notes, a Bible verse, binary, the time-dependent Schrodinger equation, an idyllic scene...Above the circular frame to the left are some phases of the moon, and to the right different times on clocks. Below the circular frame are arms and orange trees: the arm on the left is a mechanical arm pointing its index finger up, and to the right is a human skeletal arm with outstretched fingers splayed down. A white sheep with green eyes and rainbow wooly fur. It is wearing a green hat, and it has two stud earrings on each ear. Update: one of my straight coworkers is OBSESSED with Becky Chambers now 🤩 she has at least one queer kid, which does make me some kind of emotional 🥹🌈

I've also maybe convinced several other straight coworkers to give her books a go! Maybe even for a company book club?!

People are so weird - or so weirdly judgy - about others’ abilities to read quickly. If you’re on holiday and doing nothing but reading, six books in four days is entirely doable.

Saw a post yesterday of someone on TikTok judging another reader claiming they have read 6 books so far this year. 🤦🏾‍♀️ I could care less how many books a person reads or does not read. It’s not a competition. This discourse is beyond tired.

It never ceases to blow my mind that so many tech, sci-fi, futurism backers ended up swinging so far right. Did they entirely miss the point of the sci-fi novels? That identity, self, personal exploration is something we can nurture and grow? It's like instead they said, "no we like the dystopia."
