I hate when a podcast I like rushes to video, or a video podcast ignores that some people are LISTENING

If I wanted to watch YouTube I’d do that (I still do). I also hate that YouTubers start podcasts and they’re just videos. Just do a vlog, or a YouTube series, why you calling it a podcast?

As a humble podcaster, it’s good to see this headline. You feel immense pressure to get on the video pod train, but it’s so fucking expensive to do - which feels like the complete antithesis of what podcasting was supposed to be; a chance for the indies to have a shot.

I think it was @gregpak.net who recently said something like "action alleviates anxiety." Take that to heart. You will feel less alone, less helpless, less defenseless if you become involved in local progressive action. It's already happening all around you; go outside and find it.

hey, if you can't buy your friends' cool art, at least share, like, and comment when they promote it. i know doomscrolling is a thing for people but surely seeing your friends pop up on your feed is the antidote? let's spread some joy!

Many get sick while traveling.

One major reason is they don’t realize mass transit is high risk because airline CEOs lied about viral spread early in the pandemic and lobbied the CDC to lower precautions.

To make the most of your holiday, take precautions like wearing a mask when you travel!

You are you.

Until that day arrives, I will continue to send out this message.

Honestly I chose the wrong pull quote for the post. The right one is: “by making bigotry explicit, Trump and his closest imitators create a permission structure for people to be their worst selves.”
“It turns out that banishing the slur from public discourse was, in fact, important. Because now it’s back and it turns out that it does matter when subtext becomes actual text, when terrible people enable open hatred and bigotry, encouraging others to emulate them, degrading us all.”
Perry: The return of the r-word
"These days, the r-word slur has become a staple of the American right wing, uttered with few professional or social consequences," David M. Perry writes.

I love these diagrams. We are actually witnessing sensations being experienced at a molecular level. Scientists are doing some amazing work & the rate of revelations is astounding. Neurons are nerve cells & the video shows them communicating. Astounding stuff! Magic, even! 🤩
Glutamate is the primary molecule that neurons use to communicate with each other.

Previously, scientists have mostly recorded when neurons fire output signals, but now with a new glutamate indicator, they can record the many inputs that causes cells to fire. 🧵

I feel like the world is waiting for an elusive, mythical smoking gun when we already have abundant evidence that a fascist authoritarian regime is in place in America.

The Epstein stuff sums it up. What could possibly be uncovered that would convince you of Trump's evil that isn't already known?

I really don't like systems that force libraries to pay-per-use and I wish libraries themselves were more upfront with users about how much every movie you take out from Hoopla or Kanopy is costing the library.

you know when you saw people online years and years ago trying to trick other more gullible people online by answering common computer issues with "delete the system32 file"? and you thought "who would fall for that?" I did. I did that. because someone online told me to. they legitimately got my ass

His last role (that I knew of) was in Hamilton so very exciting to see he’s still thriving 🥰

We have a problem in this country with our TV where execs will platform one person as a presenter relentlessly because audiences respond well to them one.

They’ll then wring them out to within an inch of their lives and we all hate them because of oversaturation within a couple of years.
