If James Watson had died at 79, he would be remembered as a genius and a legend. Instead he lived until 97, and will be remembered for spending the final 18 years of his life as an outspoken racist and sexist.
A Sharon Begley byline, almost 5 years after her death.

Upon hearing the news James Watson had died, a STAT reporter said in our Slack, "I wish I could read what Sharon would have written."

Incredible news: Sharon in fact did pre-write a Watson obit. And it is masterful and excoriating.

Sometimes truth is stranger than fiction. I love posts like this for #dnd #worldbuilding !
Fun fact! The Biblioteca Joanina is one of the oldest libraries in Portugal; founded in 1717, and is also considered one of the most beautiful in the world.
It also houses two colonies of BATS!
They live behind its shelves since at least the 18th century, to protect the books from insects.

Got the box set in 1978. I loved the monochrome early modules - favourite cover (C1) was done by the legendary Erol Otus.
