Watched these agents attack man with a walker today
Video from CBS News shows ICE agents deploying tear gas, point blank, in protesters faces and aimed at press cameras during yesterday's mobilization against a federal operation at Bro-Tex in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Reminder that tear gas is an abortifacient.

As a St Paul renter, this is such an interesting read!
This is my first post on Bluesky which looks at St. Paul’s upcoming budget shortfall. I simulated a hypothetical: what if the city tried to close the shortfall entirely by raising fees on vacant parcels instead of raising property taxes?

Kyle Kingsbury is not a journalist. He is not an op-ed writer.

He is a computer safety researcher.

And he has written one of the most compelling, comprehensive accounts of the ongoing hell in Chicago that you could possibly imagine.

In under 1600 words.

Did anyone get the pre-approval from J.D. Vance and the thought police? Are "Dick Cheney is finally dead" jokes allowed or not?

More reporting about how that ICE raid in South Shore might have been as much about evicting all the residents of the building for Wells Fargo as it was to kidnap migrants without due process.

The building is in a 27 million dollar foreclosure filed by Wells Fargo. The next day, Wells Fargo filed an emergency motion for receivership. The fascist regime kindly emptied the building for donor Wells Fargo.

I’m so struck by this video. A regular day in Logan Square in front of a grocery store and ICE pulls up and tear gassed people. Funston Elementary School is right across the street as well. This is a major corridor in Logan Sq. No concern for human safety

My wish would be that any Minnesota elected who made a statement today about violence having no place in politics, will have an equally poignant statement about police brutalizing striking U of MN workers on their picket line today.

It really needs to be pointed out. As someone who has been to actions up to and inculdiong the uprising here in 2020 I have never seen every officer wearing fake name badges all with the name “the others” instead of their actual names.

“Federal law enforcement officers on the scene declined to say what the purpose of the raid was, and directed the Reformer to an email address for ICE’s media contact. Some declined to identify which agency they were with. Most wore masks.”

That's called secret police and it looked like it.

the charges that they're trying to raise against grad student Doğukan Günaydin set a terrifying precident of using statutes that are usually reserved for terrorists as justification to disappear someone

(DHS did this all while mispronouncing his name and making basic clerical visa errors)
as just a rando listening to this, if DUIs make you a national security threat then obviously Hegseth is beyond disqualified for the post he's failed upwards into, but also like, this is the level of argument that DHS has to stoop to for finding charges to retroactively justify disappearing people??
